Love Lessons ❣

Hey guys, todays post is a little more personal so I am feeling a little nervous to share it. It’s nothing too deep, but still πŸ™Š I decided to write this post as I do like to share my feelings here because I do like to treat this blog as my diary, and it’s nice to reflect on previous experiences.

A couple of months ago I told you all that I was seeing someone new, but he is history now! Things didn’t work out between myself and said guy – I’m not going to tell you his real name, so we shall refer to him as ‘Joe’ for now. Well, I have to call him something and since I adore Joe Hart, ‘Joe’ is the perfect name to use. πŸ˜‹

To be honest, I really don’t care about Joe and I’m not fussed that things never worked out between us. Don’t get me wrong, Joe is a nice guy, but there was just no spark between us. To start with, I did want things to head in the direction of a relationship purely because I really want someone to cuddle with, but deep downI know if he asked me to be his girlfriend and I had said yes, it wouldn’t have been for the right reasons. I would have been settling for someone I didn’t really want to be with just because I didn’t want to wait for ‘The One’. I do find it quite hard to meet people I have a genuine romantic interest in, but I’m only 21 and I have plenty of time to find the right guy. There’s no need to rush into a relationship with someone for the sake of it.

Technically I wasn’t even seeing ‘Joe’. We literally ‘dated’ for a week but we had spoken for a little while before our first date. During that time, I was still speaking to my ex too, so nothing was ever that serious. What was refreshing though, is whilst I was speaking to ‘Joe’ my feelings for my ex seemed to fade away, everytime I heard my phone ping, instead of hoping it was the ex, I was hoping it was Joe. It made me realise that moving on from my ex can be done, I just have to meet the right person, and maybe just maybe my feelings for my ex are not as consuming as I first thought. I can find myself falling for someone else and I feel good about the prospect of a new relationship.

Back to Joe – Our first date wasn’t the best date I’ve ever been on, but it wasn’t the worst. It had the potential to be great, if I hadn’t have felt so nervous and shy. I’ve learnt an important lesson here – be myself always. Next time I go on a date, I’m going to pretend I’m hanging out with a lifelong friend and feel confident and outgoing.

What didn’t help my nervousness and shyness though, was the fact that Joe finished his meal way before I’d even made a dent in mine. I felt like he was waiting for me to hurry up and finish and I felt conscious that he was watching me eat.

We made small talk and I found we did have quite a lot in common, we both love Disney! He was friendly, kind and charming.

Those lovely traits aside, he did commit the ultimate first date sin… Pretty much as soon as we started eating, he asked me about my previous relationships and then proceeded to talk about his ex (who also happens to be his baby mama, great). It seemed like he was still fairly into her, saying how serious he was with her and how it took him a long time to get over her (not that he has). A seed of doubt was planted after this conversation and the funny this is, a couple of weeks ago I heard Joe and his baby mama were trying to work things out. LOL.

That’s really all I could fault Joe for, as other than that he was lovely. Joe was nice enough to pick me up and drop me home, and he did that every time we saw each other which I thought was really nice of him. I didn’t even have to ask, he would always offer even when I said I didn’t mind getting a taxi.

Just the simple gesture of Joe picking me up makes me realise that there are people in this world who will make an effort with me and I shouldn’t feel unworthy of the effort being made. In our whole relationship my ex visited my house only two times, whereas I visited his at least three times a week and slept over often. With my ex I would always feel afraid of inviting him to come over because I felt undeserving, why would he want to make the effort to come and see me? Now I don’t feel afraid to expect love and care. I feel good in expecting someone to make the effort with me as I would with them. Relationships work both ways and now I know to never stand for anything I don’t deserve just because I don’t feel good enough. I’m thankful to Joe for making me feel confident and believing that I do deserve to be cared for.

I really did like Joe, but I don’t feel sad that nothing ever came of our relationship. We obviously didn’t have any chemistry and sometimes thats just the way it is. You have to kiss a few frogs before meeting your prince. πŸΈπŸ‘‘ I learnt so much from Joe, my experience with him taught me a lot and I’m truly grateful to have met him.

Tag Tuesday πŸ„ Have you ever?

Hey guys! ❣ It’s Tag Tuesday. Hurrrray. I love doing tags’ I think answering questions is a lot of fun πŸ˜‹ Today I have decided to do the ‘Have You Ever’ tag. This tag has only a few questions, so this will be a short and sweet post 🌼

Have you ever liked someone who has a girlfriend / boyfriend? – Not seriously, no.

Have you ever had your heart broken? – I think so, and it’s the worst feeling in the world.

Have you ever been out of the country? – Yes, fortunately many times!

Have you ever done something outrageously dumb? – Erm, giving my ex boyf 5000 chances and then regretting it? Yes. Getting ridiculously drunk and making a fool of myself? Far too often. So have I ever done anything outrageously dumb? The answer is YES.

Have you ever been backstabbed by a friend? – Probably at some point in my life, I can’t really recall a specific time and I try to avoid dwelling on negativity.

Have you ever had sex on the beach? – The cocktail? πŸ˜‰ Oh yes 😜

Have you ever dated someone younger than you? – No, I’m not a cougar πŸ™ˆ

Have you ever read an entire book in one day? – Yes, when I was younger I would read a lot when I was on school holidays. These days I can read a book within 2 days if I’m really enjoying it but I don’t think I have the time to read a whole book in one day anymore, I wish! (Although it’s cheaper for me as I’m not buying books so often). πŸ™ŠπŸ“š

I hope you enjoyed reading my answers, and if you fancy doing this tag yourself then go for it!! It’s fun 😊

I hope you’re all enjoying your day today, thankyou for reading. Love, Jennie. ❣ xxxxxxxxxxx

My Travel Bucketlist.πŸŒπŸ„πŸŒ»

🌞“I want to make memories all over the world”🌏

Visiting different places, making memories with my loved ones, experiencing new cultures and getting to know new places is my dream. I want to spend as much time as possible seeing this beautiful world, to travel is to live.

There are so many incredible places in this world, it fills me with wonder. It amazes me to know that whilst I am sitting here writing this, there are people ‘floating’ in the Dead Sea, proposing in Paris and skiing in the Alps. It’s truly incredible to know there is so much to experience in this world and there are so many exciting places to visit.

Sunset in Menorca, Balaeric Islands. Where I used to live πŸ’›πŸŒž

I’ve decided to put together a Travel Bucketlist of all the places I would most like to venture to. Of course I would like to visit pretty much EVERYWHERE, but these are the places that I would most like to visit.

I have wanted to visit Italy for as long as I can remember, in fact I almost had the opportunity to when I roadtripped back from Spain with my family, however we ventured through France and Belgium instead. Italy to me seems like the perfect getaway, and I would love to go here with my family. Italy is a beautiful country which I would love to be able to see with my own eyes. I expect a few visits to Italy would be ideal, as there is so much to explore. I would love to see the Colosseum and eat Pizza by the leaning tower of Piza and it would be lovely to visit Venice and Juliet’s Balcony in Verona.

Bella Italia, the closest to Italy I have ever been πŸ˜‹πŸ

New York.
I am lucky enough to have already been to New York, and I’ve always said that I would rather visit somewhere new before revisiting a place I had already been to, but lately I just can’t stop dreaming about the vibrant and fantastic NYC. Goodness, I want to experience this city all over again. I want to visit Coney Island and Brooklyn, places I didn’t get to see last time I went. I also want to save up lots of money for the next time I go to New York, so I can shop till I drop and feel like Blair Waldorf. The thought of visiting the Big Apple fills me with so much excitement, this is definitely a place I would love to get to know more.

A collage I made of all my pictures from NYC 2005.

Disneyworld Florida.
Last year I visited Disneyland Paris with Emily and now we are dreaming of taking it to the next level and going to Disneyworld in Florida. Emily has been, but I haven’t and I would love to go so much, not least because of the sunny weather! Disneyland Paris is the most magical place I have been to so I can only imagine how magical DisneyWorld Florida is. Visiting ‘The Wizarding World of Harry Potter’ would be so cool and I bet all of the rides at DisneyWorld are so much fun. I know Emily and I would have the best time here, I think this is the perfect holiday destination for best friends.

Emily and I at Disneyland / Universal Studios 2015.

Ooh I would so love to live it up in Ibiza with my friends, for me this is an absolute must. I think it would be the best girls holiday, with the best nightclubs, parties and hotels. I hear Ibiza is also a really beautiful place too, so it would be great to have a look around and explore one day if I wasn’t feeling too hungover! Ibiza is definitely my dream girls holiday (other than VEGAS) and I really hope that the girls and I visit one day.

My first girls holiday in Malia 🌞

For me, a trip to Amsterdam is essential. I would really love to go here with my friends and visit the nightclubs and coffee shops, whilst taking time to see everything this place has to offer including the Red Light district and Anne Franks house. I imagine visiting Anne Franks house would be very insightful and humbling, I would absolutely love to visit this city in the near future.

Cycling in Amsterdam is a must, whatever the weather. 🚲

I really hope to visit these places at least once in my lifetime, if I had it my way I would have all of these locations ticked off my bucketlist in the next two years. What a dream. πŸŒπŸ’

I look forward to visiting these countries one day and writing up my experiences on this blog.

Where in the world would you most like to visit?

The Perfect Sunday πŸŒ»

Hey guys. I’ve titled this blog post ‘The Perfect Sunday’ because today really has been the perfect Sunday. Except Dad’s not too thrilled now, because his Pasta bake has gone wrong. I hope he’s alright, I’m sure the Pasta bake will taste just fine.

*Update, I’ve had some pasta and it was fine if not a tad burnt, but regardless you can never ever go wrong with Pasta* 🍝🍝

Today my alarm rudely interupted my dreams at 7:45 am, which if you ask me is completely unnaceptable on a Sunday. It was all for good reasoning though as Emily and I went to the Harvester for breakfast. I almost had breakfast at home too as obviously it’s part of my usual routine, I had to remind myself that I didn’t need to pour myself a bowl of cereal as I would be able to have one at the Harvester. πŸ˜‚

On my way to breakfast, you can’t see to well in the picture but I was loving my makeup today. πŸ’„

I met Emily a little later than 10am and we were pleased to see that the Harvester had brought back the Unlimited Breakfast. I decided to go for the Β£7 option and ordered 3 sausages, 1 hash brown, 1 fried egg, scrambled egg, bacon and fries. I tend to have eyes bigger than my belly as I didn’t even come close to finishing my food, I hardly even cleared the plate. Along with that mountain of yumminess, I also had a bowl of cornflakes and coco pops. It’s safe to say I was very full up. The food was nice though, except my bacon was slightly cold and Emily said her scrambled egg was a little chilly, but maybe thats because we didn’t eat it straight away as we were still finishing our cereal. I would definitely go to the Harvester for breakfast again, the food is tasty and well priced.

I really enjoyed going for breakfast with Emily, we had great friendly chats and spoke about the plans we have for the Summer. I told her I was really looking forward to Magaluf because of the breakfast we would have each day, we went out for a cooked breakfast everyday in Malia so I’m looking forward to doing the same in Maga.

After breakfast we had a look around the shops, Emily bought a top for Magaluf and some shoes. I bought Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday album, because ‘Girls fall like dominoes’ came on the aux in Emily’s car and we got buzzed. I just had to buy the whole album.

Then we went for a random look around the Fiat 500 showroom (is it a showroom? I’m not sure). I went with Emily to test drive a car there before a couple of years ago so we went back just for something to do. The sales guy ended up taking us out in the Fiat Abarth which is very speedy and was designed for racing (I’m no expert when it comes to cars, but thats pretty much what the guy told us). I did not like it at all, due to the speed and I assume the car in general, the engine growled so much. Like it was very very angry at something! It was way too fast and made me feel funny, I’m very safety first when it comes to driving so that car was not up my street (excuse the pun) at all.

The sales guy then took us out in a normal Fiat 500 which I absolutely loved, everything felt so smooth and the car looks great. I definitely plan on buying a Fiat 500 when I pass my driving test.

After we went out in the cars, we visited our friend Daisy at work and went to Maccies for lunch with her. It was really nice as I hadn’t seen Daisy in so long and she’s very funny, the three of us all had a real good laugh. We all have plans for this coming week, so it will be fab for us to spend more time together.

Emily dropped me home after our trip to Maccies and I’ve spent the rest of the afternoon reading and bathing. I finally used my ‘Father Christmas’ bath bomb from Lush, which I’ve obviously had for months. It turned my bath water green!

I can’t put this book down. πŸ’«πŸ“š

Now I’m just chilling out, relaxing with my family. I’m looking forward to my day off tomorrow so I can sleep in and dream, dream, dream.

How has your day been today? I hope it’s been The Perfect Sunday for you too.

Lots of love, Jennie. ❀️ xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hey guys ❀️ I was reading through lots of my old blog posts recently and it reminded me of how my blog started out. I used to do daily blog posts and used this little space on the internet as my journal, but lately I haven’t been writing such personal posts and I miss daily blogging. I enjoy writing up posts that require a little more thought but I want to make sure I still ‘journal’ here too. Now I’m working full time, I don’t always feel up for writing about my day, I just want to sleep! Now I’ve decided that whenever I do something with my day that isn’t just working I’m going to blog about it. So expect more journal style posts πŸ˜‹

Today I did have work, my hours were 9-6. I had a really busy day today and did lots of makeovers which I found really fun. I love doing makeovers on people and making people feel good about themselves. Getting to do peoples makeup everyday is definitely something to smile about. My favourite thing to do is face makeup – foundation, contour, blush and highlight. I would like to work on my eyeshadow and liner skills as I could definitely improve in that area.

We had lots of big sales today and lots of happy, grateful customers. It feels so good when customers are truly appreciative of your help and you know you have made a difference in how they feel about themselves.

I had lots of lovely chats with my coworkers today, I work with a lovely bunch!

After work, I bought a new bronzer from L’OrΓ©al, the ‘Glam Bronze Duo’ in the shade 01. I have used this before and really like it, it’s great for contouring. It also comes with a highlighter, but I don’t use that. I bought a kohl eyeliner from Seventeen and a pencil sharpener (for makeup)!

I then went into my favourite DVD store CEX which is store which sells second hand DVDs and games ect. I bought the 2015 edition of ‘Cinderella’ which I have spoken about before in a previous blog post. I’ve only seen this film once with my sister, but I wanted to buy it so I could watch it again and also introduce the film to my parents because I think it’s such a beautiful movie.

My family picked me up from work and we got a Chinese takeaway, which is my fave ever. We went home and relaxed on the sofa, eating our meal. I put Cinderella on the TV but we spent most of our time talking rather than paying attention to the film. It was nice to socialise with each other and have a natter. Family time is so important. I’m sure you’ve heard me say that many times!

Now my sister ZoΓ« has gone home and Dad has gone to bed, my mums on the phone to my brother and I’m just writing this blog post whilst watching Cinderella. 😊

I’ll be off now and will chat with you again tomorrow πŸ™‚ I hope you’ve all had a nice day today. Love, Jennie ❀️

The Tan Lines Tag β˜€οΈ

imageHey guys, I have recently booked up my Summer holiday for this year and I am very excited so for today’s Tag Tuesday I have decided to do ‘The Tan Lines Tag’ which is a really cool, Summery tag that creates all the good vibes for Summer. Whilst answering these questions, all I could think about was being on holiday. I can’t wait for Summer.

1. Beach House or Lake House?
Why not both? I don’t think I could choose between the two, but I guess if I had to pick I would probably choose a beach house because I could just wake up, step outside and feel the hot sand between my toes. It would be great at nighttime too, the perfect location to chill with loved ones and watch the sunset, have a little sleep and then watch the sunrise in the morning.
2. Favorite Summer Hairstyle?
It depends what I fancy each day, but braids are always pretty and perfect for Summer along with floral hair accesories.

3. Do you tan or burn?
Tan, tan, tan. I love sunbathing and getting a tan, and luckily I seem to tan pretty quickly!
4. Have you ever gotten a henna tattoo?
Oh God yes, my friend and I got matching henna’s last year in Malia, it was of a sun on our shoulders. Her’s looked lovely, mine smudged within seconds of the guy doing it, such a waste of €5.

I also got a henna tattoo when I went to Leeds fest, of the word ‘Leeds’. That didn’t turn out well either. The lady wrote ‘LeeEds’ so it was spelt incorrectly. I got the henna placed on my leg and it was taking an age to dry. I couldn’t wait all day so eventually I had to get up and walk around whilst it was still wet, causing the henna to drip down my leg, leaving a very unpleasant stain.

Clearly I have bad luck when it comes to Henna.
5. Bonfires or Night Swimming?
Again, why not both? I have the perfect idea, I’ll have a bonfire on the beach and then go for a nightime swim in the sea. Perfect!
6. If you could travel anywhere over the summer where would you go and why?
Ah so many places to choose from, I can’t decide. It would be great to go on a SummerΒ Holiday to Italy for a few weeks, or spend the Summer traveling to and from different countries, such as the beautiful Thailand.
7. Bikinis, Tankinis, or One-Piece bathing suits?
Bikinis all the way, I own so many and I plan on buying more for my holiday this year! Sometimes they can be a little risky though, e.g. when they untie or give you a nip slip 😩 Story of my life.
8. Summer makeup must haves?
Whatever I’m feeling on the day, I don’t have any must haves. Except Suncream, don’t forget your suncream guys.
9. How hot does it get where you live?
I’m not sure exactly but it rarely gets too hot, we can have a weekend of amazing weather and then a week of rain and clouds. Got to love England eh?!
10. Do you play any sports over the summer?
Not particularly, when I lived in Menorca I would swim a lot but now I don’t have a pool and I wouldn’t really bother going to a leisure center to swim. I miss the Summer days at school when our PE lessons would be outside, playing Rounders and Football.

11. Have you ever had a summer fling?
Not so much a ‘fling’, more like a one night ting when I lived in Menorca and met a lad who was holidaying in the same town. He was a 10/10 😍 I sometimes consider my ex to be a ‘Summer Romance’ as even though we were ‘together’ throughout many different Seasons, it was Summer when we started dating and when we were at our happiest. The sunshine and Summer months often brings back fond memories of our relationship 😊 I would love to have a holiday romance, going on holiday to Italy and meeting a guy, falling in love for two weeks and then saying goodbye, it sounds so perfect to me 😍

12. Number one things on your summer bucket list?
TO HAVE THE BEST SUMMER EVER! I have my girls holiday booked so it’s an absolute must that we go to a paint party and I reallllly want to go to EDC and see Avicii live. Mostly, I want to make happy and fun memories with my loved ones.
13. Long hair or short hair over the summer?
Long long long! I never want to give up my long hair, no matter what the season.
14. Do you wear makeup to the pool/beach/lake?
Not whilst I’m on holiday, I don’t see the point because I’d rather have my face makeup free so I can tan, although I love wearing makeup. I’d more likely wear it to the beach and lake, as I’d only paddle, whereas in a pool I would full on swim and get my face wet.
15. Worst summer memory?
I don’t think I have one. Yay life!

I hope you guys enjoyed reading my answers and it gave you all the Summery feels.

I tag anyone and everyone who wants to do this tag. β˜€οΈ

Let me know in the comments what you’re most looking forward to this Summer.

Thankyou for reading. Love, Jennie πŸ’› xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The Happiness Tag β˜€οΈπŸŒ»

I found this beautiful picture online. Credit to whoever made it. β˜€οΈπŸŒ»πŸ’›

Hey beauts! 🌻 I’ve been nomitated to do the Happiness Tag by one of my favourite bloggers, Bella. Thankyou Bella for tagging me!

You should definitely check her blog out if you haven’t already, I enjoy reading all of her posts and I’m sure you will too.

‘The Happiness Tag’ is an excellent idea as it’s really great for us to sit back and think about what makes us happy, and it’s a fun way of spreading positivity and good vibes. When I saw that I was tagged I was so happy and I knew I had to do the tag ASAP.

Since today is Monday (unless you are reading this on a different day πŸ™Š), I thought this would be the perfect time to write this tag, as what better way to start the week than in a positive way? So here goes ❀️

List 5 things that make you happy.
1β˜€οΈ. The sunshine! Nothing puts me in a better mood than waking up and seeing the sun shining through my bedroom window. Good weather, good mood.

2🚲. Bike rides. I love being outside on the bike, exploring and exercising in a fun and exciting way. I love cycling!

3πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘§. Family time. I adore my family so of course spending quality time with them makes me happy, happy, happy. Going out for dinner, taking trips to visit relatives, it all puts a smile on my face.

4πŸ‘. My friends. I love my friends a lot, spending time giggling away and making memories with them brings so much joy to my life. I am so lucky to have the group of friends that I do. They are loyal, funny, caring and sweet and I love them all dearly. My friends make me happy.

5πŸ™†πŸ». Having my hair done. Ah nothing puts me in a state of bliss like having my hair played with or even better, getting it styled at a salon. It makes me feel so relaxed and calm and is my favourite thing ever! Who doesn’t love having their hair played with?

Wow, I guess I’m lucky because trying to choose just 5 things to list was quite hard, LOT’s of things make me happy 😍

List 5 songs that make you happy.
This is going to be a tricky one, because I love so many songs. I may have to have a quick look through my playlist to decide my absolute faves.

1. FEED EM TO THE LIONS by Solo 45. This song will always remind me of my girls holiday to MALIA. Everyone went crazy when this song was played and now whenever we hear it out, we get so excited. This will forever be the theme song to Malia 2015.

2. CHEERLEADER by OMI. This song always reminds me of my time at college with my best girls, feeling free and happy and loving life. Whenever I hear this song, I think of one of the best times of my life.

3. STILL INTO YOU by Paramore. First of all this is a great, fun and catchy song but more importantly it reminds me of when my best friend and I saw Paramore live at Leeds fest. ‘Still into you’ was the song that they opened with and Emily and I were so excited, dancing and singing away. What a good memory.

4. I’M IN CONTROL by AlunaGeorge. This is one of my favourite songs at the moment and I first heard it at work, the girl who works on the Smashbox counter always has her music blaring and this is a song she always plays. It put’s me in the best mood and makes me want to go out and party. Myself and Beth always have a cheeky dance when we are at work and hear this song come on. I can definitely see this being one of my main Summer 2016 jams.

5. THE SUN WILL COME OUT TOMORROW and YOU’RE NEVER FULLY DRESSED WITHOUT A SMILE from the Annie soundtrack. Okay so really this means I have chosen 6 songs, but I could not pick one Annie song without the other and I think these are the best two off the soundtrack. TSWCOT is a lovely, positive track which can fill you with hope when you listen to it, also it has the word SUN in it and you know now that I love the sun. YNFDWAS is the best song and reminds me to always wear a smile, because no outfit is complete without one. πŸ’πŸ»

Woo, I enjoyed writing this so much. Thanks again Bella for tagging me.

Now it’s my turn to tag you!

I’m going to tag –

And anyone else who wants to do this tag!

Thanks for reading guys, lots of love ❀️ Jennie β€οΈβ˜€οΈ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
