*Get To Know Me* 😘😘

Hey lovelies, how are you all? It’s Tag Tuesday time again and I thought it was about time I did the ‘Get To Know Me’ Tag since I’ve had this blog over half a year now and I haven’t done it yet. So if ya wanna get to know me a bit more, read on.

1• What does the last text you sent say? And to whom? – “Same! I really want that burger from the fair last week that was so good! Awh bless you! You still tired? Haha it is 😂 i know right imagine facing your family and friends after! 😂good hows work?” To Emily.
2• What does the last text you recieved say? And from whom? – “Haha was it? That’s like the first time you’ve ever liked fair food I swear! 😂 yeah I am 😭 haha so awkward! And alright thanks- getting a headache! You?” From Emily.
3• What time do you wake up most mornings? – 630 am, tooooo early mate. 😩                    4• Are you afraid of walking alone at night? – Well it’s not something I tend to do often, in fact the last time I remember walking completely alone at night time was around 3 years ago. So I guess you could say I’m afraid, because it’s not a situation I feel comfortable putting myself in.
5• What do you do to relax at the end of a stressful day? – I usually curl up on the sofa and read a good book, or sit back with some comfort food and watch TV.
6• Where did your last kiss take place and with whom? – At a house party with a friend of a friend.
7• Do/did you get into trouble a lot at school? – Meh, not really. I was a pretty average student, well behaved but trouble sometimes. 😋
8• Do you enjoy your job? If unemployed, are you content being so? – I have a great job which I very much enjoy the majority of the time. ☺️
9• Do you often pick up on double entendres and innuendos? – Yeaaah all the time.
10• Have you ever been offered drugs but declined? – I don’t think I’ve ever been offered legit hardcore drugs, if I had I would definitely say no. Drugs aren’t for me!
11• Have you ever met someone who has completely altered your way of thinking? – Hm, I don’t think so. Following @VexKing on twitter though has definitely helped with my being more positive. His tweets are definitely super inspiring.
12• Have you ever been offered drugs and accepted? – Nah. I’ve not even smoked weed.
13• Tell us something weird that turns you on. – Ehhh, I’m not sure I can think of anything weird.
14• When did someone last admit romantic or sexual feelings for you? Was the feeling mutual? – Loool I guess last time I spoke to my ex when he went off with his usual bullshit. 🤔 The feelings were deffo mutual until he changed his mind again. 🙄 LATERS BOII.
15• What is something you have given a lot of thought to lately? – Nothing deep, but I’m constantly thinking about travel, travel, travel. All I can think about is how much I want to travel the world and see different places.
16• When did you last swallow your beliefs to avoid an argument or confrontation? – Errrrm I’m not sure?
17• Do you usually initiate hugs? – Yeah! All the time. Love a good hug.
18• Are you a very affectionate person? – Yes absolutely.
19• Can you roll your own cigarettes? – No! I don’t smoke, I’ve seen my friends do it though, I reckon I’d create a right mess. If I did smoke, I definitely wouldn’t get roll ups.
20• What are you looking forward to? – MAGA with the girls.
21• Do you have any tattoos. Do you want any/more? – No I don’t and I don’t want one either.
22• Are you mentally strong? – Yes.
23• Are you physically strong? – Looool not really. I’m alright I guess, probably couldn’t lift weights though.
24• Do you think you’re a good person? – Absolutely.
25• Name one thing you wish you could change about your life right now. – I would love to be with my soulmate, travelling the world and working for myself. So that’s three things not one, but I want them all equally. 😋
26• What do you usually eat for breakfast? – CEREAL. Cereal is too good. I think Sav would agree with me on this one!

That’s all the GTKM questions, I had so much fun answering these! I tag anyone who wants to answer these questions to do this tag.

Thankyou so much for reading, love Jennie. ❤️xxxxxxxxxxxxx

10 pictures which make me happy.*Family edition*👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

When I reached 100 followers here on the blog, I thought a great way to celebrate would be to do a post with 10 pictures that make me happy. Because what better way to celebrate than sharing joy and happiness, and this would be a way for me to reflect on happy times and feel grateful towards these moments. When feeling grateful and appreciative, we attract more joy into our lives. So I think this is a great way to reflect and feel gratitude.

For some reason or another, I never got round to doing a celebratory 100 followers post using this idea, I’m now on the better side of 150 followers – hopefully soon I will hit 200! Thankyou all so much to everyone who follows my blog and leaves such lovely comments. 💖

Scrolling through my facebook albums, I found it quite tricky to pick just 10 pictures which make me happy. After narrowing it down, I thought it best to make two seperate ‘editions’. One for Family pictures and one for Friends.

Today I will be sharing with you 10 Family pictures which make me happy. Enjoy. 😊📸

Tommy’s 2nd Birthday. 2️⃣🎂❤️🎉

On the 17th July my parents, sister and I took a trip down to Chippenham to visit family and celebrate my nephew Tommy’s second birthday.

We had to leave at around 8ish, meaning my alarm was set for 6.30. Waking up that early on a Sunday should be illegal. But the journey went pretty quickly, with lots of snacks and no traffic.

We arrived at my brothers house just gone 10 and I realised very quickly that I was in the wrong clothing. Sun shining brightly, I looked enviously at my mother who was in a nice Summer dress whilst I was stuck in black leggings and a tshirt. Not ideal but I managed.

We stayed at the house for a while, playing in my brothers awesome garden. He has such a lush house and the garden is huge with lots of play things, perfect for Tommy to grow up in. For his birthday Tommy got a cute little machine which blows bubbles and you can push it around the garden, he was obsessed and if we turned it off whilst he was doing something else, he’d stop what he was doing to switch it back on.

After a play in the garden we walked down to John Coles Park. The walk was so lovely, it took about 15-20 minutes and I was absolutely roasting, the sun was so hot. There was lots of nature on the way and a lovely little creek which was super cool. I love things like that.

The park itself is so cool. It was my first time there and I loved it from the moment I arrived. The perfect place for family friendly fun. It’s really modern with brightly coloured play apparatus such as swings and slides, my inner child was desperate to have a go. We spent our time at the Splash Pad, which is a circular surface of anti slip concrete with water shooters on the ground for the kids to run and play in, with stands with buckets of water that often tip over – so if you’re looking to get absolutely drenched then that’s the place to stand. I would have loved to have played in the Splash Pad myself, it looked like so much fun and the perfect way to cool down. Unfortunately though the age limit for the splash pad was 12 years old and it was too busy for me to sneak in. Tommy had a blast though, his little smile as he ran and splashed through the water was enough to make anyones day. He’s soo gorgeous. We watched Tommy play and chatted between ourselves which was really lovely, then we got ourselves some ice cream which was an absolute nightmare because they just melted straight away. I didn’t even have time to get a summery picture for Instagram, it was dripping as soon as I bought it.

We walked back home after a couple of hours at the park, then my brother Lee, my sister Zoë and I walked to a snack bar near Lee’s house to get lunch for everyone. It was really cool for the three of us to spend time together as siblings, we had a lovely time chatting and walking. I really enjoyed our quality sibling time, it’s not often we spend time just the three of us so it felt really great.

We spent the rest of the afternoon back at the house, sitting out in the garden eating and drinking. I went on the trampoline for a bit and I full on intended to stay on for 10 minutes so I could get some exercise but I literally only lasted one whole minute before I was out of breath. I know now that I should never buy a trampoline, it would be such a waste of money since I can’t even use it for long!

Tommy opened some of his presents, he got lots of great things. He mostly got car / truck related toys, my Nan got him a really cool garbage truck toy, awesome. The cake was brought out and we sang Happy Birthday, seeing Tommy blow out the candles was honestly so adorable. I didn’t think he would be able to do it by himself but he did, what a cherub.

Then it was time to go home, so we said goodbye to the fam and set off on our way.

We all had such a lovely day in Chippenham celebrating Tommy’s 2nd birthday, the weather was beautiful and we were all happy, happy, happy. I can’t wait for our next visit to Chippenham!

Thankyou for reading, love Jennie. 💖 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The Ultimate Book Tag.📚

image

Hello guys, it’s time for another Tag Tuesday and today I will be doing ‘The Ultimate Book Tag’ which I found on Books with Bite. I absolutely love reading, it’s one of my favourite hobbies and I can often be found with my nose in a book. As a huge lover of reading, ‘The Ultimate Book Tag’ is definitely something I have to do.

1. Do you get sick while reading in the car?
Unfortunately yes, which is annoying because I would love to be able to read in the car. I can’t even scroll through facebook without feeling queasy.
2. Which author’s writing style is completely unique to you and why?
I’m not sure whether I would say the author’s style is unique to me, but I love books by Jill Mansell because they always have the perfect amount of romance involved.

image
3. Harry Potter Series or the Twilight Saga? Give 3 points to defend your answer.
HARRY POTTER. *Always* Harry Potter.
• It’s Magical. Completely, utterly, 100% magical. ✨
• It’s exciting and has a bit of everything – comedy, adventure, excitement, romance… There’s never a dull moment.
• The friendships between Hermione, Harry and Ron, and pretty much every friendship in the story, always makes me feel warm and cosy inside.

image
4. Do you carry a book bag? If so, what is it in (besides books…)?
No I don’t carry a book bag – I used to when I was in first school though. 😋 Cuuuute.
5. Do you smell your books?
Nooooo. 😂 Although I do know what people mean when they talk about that ‘new book’ smell. 😋
6. Books with or without little illustrations?
I guess I don’t mind either way, but I would probably say without illustrations because they just aren’t necessary for me.
7. What book did you love while reading but discovered later it wasn’t quality writing?
Ah, I read a book called ‘The Stolen’ at quite a young age, perhaps as a pre-teen. I thought it was the bees knees and so great, but it was only when re-reading it many years later that I realised it actually wasn’t as good as I originally had thought. That’s probably more down to me growing up though.
8. Do you have any funny stories involving books from your childhood? Please share!
Not so much a funny story, but when I was younger I turned my bedroom into a ‘library’ for house guests to have a look around, and I left a little tub outside my door for people to leave money in once they had chosen a book. This basically defeats the whole point of it being a library, because you never pay for library books! I remember making my Grandad have a look around and ‘buy’ a book. 😂
9. What is the thinnest book on your shelf?
The Magic – Rhonda Byrne
10. What is the thickest book on your shelf?
Perfect Timing – Jill Mansell. Bare in mind most of my books are in storage at the moment, so it’s not really a ‘shelf’ full of books.

11. Do you write as well as read? Do you see yourself in the future as being an author?

I obviously write my blog, and I once wrote a short childrens story for my niece, which I even illustrated! I was sooo proud of that and would love to read it back. I’m not sure if I can see myself as an author, but I would love to write a book someday.
12. When did you get into reading?
I have always loved reading for as long as I can remember. As a child, books would always be at the top of my Christmas list. I’ve always been an avid reader and can’t imagine my life without books.
13. What is your favorite classic book?
I don’t have a favourite classic as such, but I really loved The Famous Five and Secret Seven series when a was a child.
14. In school was your best subject Language Arts/English?
One of my best subjects, yes! I really enjoyed my English lessons.
15. If you were given a book as a present that you had read before and hated…what would you do?
I would be gracious and say thankyou, then I’d probably just pop it on my bookshelf and leave it be.
16. What is a lesser known series that you know of that is similar to Harry Potter or the Hunger Games?
Hmm, ‘Uglies’ by Scott Westerfield has minor similarities to The Hunger Games in which the people are controlled by the ‘government’, but other than that I couldn’t compare the two. I can’t think of any other series with any similarities to Harry Potter or The Hunger Games.image
17. What is your favorite word?
It would have to be ‘fabulous’. I use that word all the time, fabulous is a fabulous word right? Everything’s so fabulous!
18. Are you a nerd, dork, or dweeb? Or all of the above?
I would say I’m definitely quite a nerd!
19. Vampires or Fairies? Why?
Ohhhh no! How can I pick? I mean Vampires are hot (I’m talking Damon Salvatore here) but Fairies are so pretty and cute! Although thinking about it, I’d have to say Vampires because they are a lot more interesting.
20. Shapeshifters or Angels? Why?
Angels definitely because what’s more beautiful than an Angel?
21. Spirits or Werewolves? Why?
Spirits because I think they’re cooler than Werewolves. Werewolves have never really appealed to me, I’d rather read a book about Spirits.
22. Zombies or Vampires?
Vampires. Zombies are just horrible and gross and not up my street at all. Vampires are super cool and there’s always something exciting going on with them. I’ve read lots of books about Vampires and they’ve all been really entertaining.
23. Love Triangle or Forbidden Love?
Ooooooooh good question. I’d probably say Love Triangle because it makes for a much jucier storyline, although Forbidden Love is definitely entertaining with lots of romance.
24. AND FINALLY: Full on romance books or action-packed with a few love scenes mixed in?
I love both! At the moment I would have to say full on romance, I just love romance novels. However it’s good to shake things up a bit and action packed books are equally as entertaining.

That’s all the questions for The Ultimate Book Tag. I hope you enjoyed this post, thankyou for reading.

I tag anyone who loves books to answer these questions.

Lots of love, Jennie. 💚 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

MUA Monday. SFX ALIEN 👽

Just another Makeup Monday 🎼 And that should be read in the tune of Manic Monday by The Bangles. 😝💃🏻

For today’s makeup Monday I thought it would be fun to share with you all two images of a SFX makeup look I created whilst at college. SFX makeup is so much fun and I had a great time creating this alien inspired look. 👽

The idea behind this look is to have a normal human face, that’s been torn open to show the alien underneath. I used latex and fake blood to create the ‘rip’ around the eye area, and tied the look together by painting my models lips blue.

I really like how this turned out and think it looks so cool. I would love to recreate this look now I have more experience with makeup, and improve it by using a blue eyeliner on the waterline and blue mascara with possibly a hint of fake blood on the lashes to create a more ‘realistic’ effect.

Perhaps I will post another makeup Monday soon where I have recreated this look. I reaaaally want to!

I hope you guys liked this post and think this look is cool. Aliens ftw. 👽 Thankyou for reading, with love, Jennie. 👽👽💙

MODEL – SOFI JONES.

MUA – JENNIE BALLARD.

Be sure to check out my Instagram for more. ☺️😘👽
