Amsterdam Haul. 🇳🇱👜

I have just returned home from a brilliant long weekend away in Amsterdam where I had the best time with my best friend Emily.

I will be doing more in depth posts about my weekend away but for now I will be sharing with you all the goodies I bought whilst in Amsterdam. I absolutely love shopping and this place is a spenders dream… Amsterdam has every shop you could possibly wish for from Chanel, Cartier, Urban Outfitters, ABH cosmetics, Burberry cosmetics, Pandora, Victoria’s Secret, about 1000 H&M’s and even a Waterstones, the list is endless.

Although I have to be honest a lot of things actually worked out cheaper to buy in the UK, for example in one store YSL’s Touche Eclat concealer was €39 whereas here in England it’s only £25. That’s a huge difference and with the exchange rate being so poor at the moment (thanks Brexit), it’s not very good at all.

Regardless, I made sure to treat myself to lot’s of Amsterdam exclusive goodies whilst there…

I knew before even arriving in ‘Dam that I wanted to get a Bike Charm from Pandora to symbolise the trip as the city pretty much has more bikes than people, there are bikes everywhere. When I went into Pandora I was in for a real treat as not only did they have the most beautiful Holland exclusive set of charms, including a pretty windmill, a bright orange charm and of course the dangly bicycle, but all the charms were on offer for 3 for 2. Such a bargain!!

I bought more jewellery at the Hard Rock Cafe gift shop, where I picked up the most awesome pair of jazzy guitar earrings. They are dangly and sparkly and I think they are so cool. I can’t wait to wear them.

Some of my favourite purchases are the souvenirs I picked up from the Anne Frank House, which is one of the most incredible places I have ever visited, a truly thought-provoking experience, I admit I shed a few tears. From here I picked up a copy of Anne Frank’s diary. I’ve never read Anne Frank’s diary before and I thought it would be amazing to read a copy I bought from the actual place the original was written.

I also bought some postcards from the Anne Frank house, they are great souvenirs and remind me that Anne was just a normal girl like me, and that her story along with many others is truly remarkable.

My favourite postcard of Anne’s father, Otto Frank, revisiting the house years after the war. I find this photo so amazing, as it captures such an incredible moment in time. To think of the emotions Otto Frank was feeling as this picture was taken, there are no words, just wow. 

Along with all these amazing purchases I bought the typical souvenirs one gets when visiting a new place. I collect shot glasses so I picked up 3 to add to my collection, although only two actually made it home in one piece. I bought a Red Light District postcard and a Red Light District magnet, both of which I have stuck on my fridge so I’m sure my parents will be very impressed. Ha ha ha.

I am so happy with all my wonderful purchases from Amsterdam. I love them ALL!!!

I think my favourite things I bought have got to be my Pandora charms and the souvenirs from Anne Franks house.
