The British Tag.

Hello!
Tomorrow I am off on a day trip to London with my besties and I’m so excited. I love spending time in London: shopping, sightseeing and making memories. As I am off to London tomorrow I thought today would be the perfect day to have a go at The British Tag, a tag I found over on ‘Bubba Blue & Me’. I haven’t done a tag in forever and I’m really looking forward to this one.
On to the questions…
1. How many cups of tea do you have a day? How many sugars?
I’m not actually a tea lover, don’t get me wrong I don’t mind it and I’ll drink it every now and then (once a year more like) but it’s not something I just have to have every day. I can take it or leave it to be honest.
2. Favourite part of your roast?
YORKSHIRE PUDDINGS! Ah Yorkshire Puddings are literally my favourite thing in the world, I just love them. If I could only eat one food for the rest of my life it would have to be yorkshire puddings with gravy, they are an absolute dream. Pigs in Blankets are very much delicious too, gimme them now pls.
3. Favourite dunking biscuit?
I don’t really eat biscuits to often, nor do I dunk them, but if I had to choose I would for sure go for Bourbon biscuits. Bourbons are my favourite biscuits!
This tag is making me hungry…
4. Favourite quintessentially British pastime?
What exactly is a British pastime? I feel like I can’t answer this because I’m not really sure what to say… Pass lol
5. Favourite word?
Oh gosh!!!! What a question, there are so many words to choose from. Lately I’ve been loving to use the word ‘allegedly’ but I wanna pick something more positive for my favourite word so I’mma just say my fave word is ‘brilliant’. That’s always a good word to use, brilliant brilliant brilliant.
6. Cockney rhyme slang?
I personally don’t really use cockney rhyming slang, the most common I really hear is ‘up the apple and pears’, meaning up the stairs.
7. Favourite sweet?
JELLY TOTS!
8. What would your pub be called?
The Sunshine Inn, not a typical pub name but I want to go for something cheery sounding.
9. No.1 British person?
My family and besties hehehe. Celebrity wise I would say Cara Delevingne– she’s beautiful! I would also have to say Binky Felstead from the wonderful reality show Made In Chelsea, doesn’t get any more British than that. Binky is so lovely and an absolute treasure, definitely my favourite person from MIC.
Oh and how could I forget? JOE HART!! England’s goalkeeper. ❤
10. Favourite shop / Restaurant?
Voongs, which is a Chinese restaurant I absolutely love. It’s pretty much the only Chinese restaurant I know which does the chicken just how I like. I’d also say you can’t beat a carvery, does it get more British than that?
15645463_1157307644364442_737441800_n
11. What British song pops into your head?
THREE LIONS ON A SHIRT. Oh my gosh, was sat racking my brains to think of what would class as a ‘British song’ and as I googled it, what pops into my head but this banger? It’s coming home, it’s coming home, footballs coming home! I love love love it.
12. Marmite?
YES MARMITE! I bloody love Marmite. Marmite on toast, marmite sandwiches, marmite off the knife… I love it.
And that’s all for the questions! I actually found some of these questions really tricky but they were so much fun to answer.
Now I tag Dannii to answer these questions!
Hurray for being British!
I hope you all enjoyed this post,
thank you for reading.
Cheerio (how British of me lol).
Love,
Jennie.

What Doesn’t Kill You…

What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Stronger.

Always.

Thoughts by me…

I truly believe that some of the things I may consider to be ‘the worst things to ever happen to me’ are actually some of the best things to happen to me, because the hardest times of my life are the times that are going to teach me to grow as a person, they are teaching me the lessons I need to learn to be a better me.

They are going to strengthen me mentally and inspire me to reach my full potential.

I am thankful for the troubles I have faced in my life and I wouldn’t change the experiences I have had throughout my life for the world, good or bad, as without them I wouldn’t be who I am today and I am proud of who I am as I continue to live, learn and grow.

Thanks to the hard times I have become stronger, more compassionate and more determined to live the life I desire.

‘If it never rains, then we will never grow’.

Hard times are sent to try us… ‘God sends his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers’.

Everything happens for a reason, for the greater good and whatever troubles you may be facing, you will come out better and stronger for it. Stay strong, keep smiling and most importantly believe in yourself. You got this!

‘Now I’m a warrior, I’ve got thicker skin, I’m stronger than I’ve ever been’

A Little Lush Hamper.

Anyone who knows me will know I just love Lush. If there’s one place you can be sure to find me, it’s in my local Lush store. I’m addicted, but who can blame me? Lush products are incredible.

Knowing how much I love Lush, for Christmas my parents bought me the sweetest and most thoughtful gift. They made me up my very own Lush hamper, filled with a variety of goodies from bath bombs to bubble bars to hair treatments! Each product they picked was so filled with thought too, which you’ll find out more about once I get further into the post.

With that said, I’m just going to jump right in and tell you all about the wonderful products featuring in my own personalised Lush hamper. Yay!

Snow Fairy Shower Gel 1KG

16343765_1193449450750261_1482394603_nBefore Christmas I had been nagging my Mum for a good couple of months to buy me this, as Snow Fairy is the absolute dream and with it only being available during the Christmas period, it’s an absolute necessity of a present. To get the 1KG bottle is a real treat as it’s the biggest Lush do and should last me well throughout 2017, meaning I get my Snow Fairy fix every day.

Snow Fairy Body Conditioner

Continuing with the Snow Fairy theme, I was also treated to the Snow Fairy body conditioner. I absolutely love a body conditioner, they are so much easier to use and less time consuming than a moisturiser as they can be used whilst still in the shower, perfect. Also, what better body conditioner to have than a Snow Fairy scented one? Literally, I’m a sweet candyfloss dream this year.

H’SUAN WEN HUA Hair Treatment

Okay I’m not entirely sure about the name of this product… How do I pronounce it? What does it mean? The answers are beyond me but regardless, this is a brand new Lush product for me. I have never used any Lush hair treatments before so I was really excited to receive this, however I have come to the conclusion I am not the biggest fan. I really wanted to love this product but the scent just puts me off, it’s so overbearing (I can’t describe the scent very well but I’ve seen some say it smells spicy and like cinnamon). I’ve used this hair mask twice since receiving it and I’m not giving up with using it as my parents bought it for me, but I wish it smelt a little nicer.

Sunnyside Bubble Bar

16344195_1193449487416924_500490289_n.jpgThis is a product which I have used before and I absolutely love it. Sunnyside is such a pretty, glittery bar which creates all the bubbles. Sunnyside is definitely up there as one of my favourite bubble bars, it creates so many bubbles and makes me feel all warm inside. I have already used this since receiving it so I kinda need to get myself back to Lush and treat myself to a new one ASAP.

Northern Lights Bath Bomb

16344286_1193449694083570_2114779527_nYes Northern Lights! One of the first products I tried from Lush about two years ago, I really do love how pretty and magical this bath bomb is. My Mum chose this one for me because I always go on about how much I want to go to Iceland, where you can see the Northern Lights, so it’s a very thoughtful gift. I am so happy this bath bomb was a part of my hamper and I can’t wait to use it.

Lava Lamp Bath Bomb

16343568_1193449657416907_2139060466_nHow exciting, Lava Lamp is a bath bomb I have never used before. Mum said she chose this one out for me because she thought it sounded interesting and a fun bath bomb to blog about, how cute! I am so excited to use this as like I said its a brand new product for me and a pretty funky one too so right up my street.

The Christmas Penguin Bubble Bar

16344389_1193449677416905_728545730_n

Eek, I was so excited to find this bubble bar in my hamper as I’d always seen it in store but never actually picked one up. Now I know what I’ve been missing out on, I used The Christmas Penguin for the first time today and I’m in love. This is the most perfect, cosy little bubble bar and I wish it was December already so I could get me another one!

The Rough With The Smooth Body Scrub

16237526_1193449617416911_521432903_nAnother product I’ve never used before, how exciting. I’m really looking forward to using this body scrub which is designed to exfoliate and reveal softer skin. This is the perfect product for me as I love to exfoliate! I also think this will be the perfect product to use alongside my Snow Fairy body conditioner for super dreamy skin.

I received so many amazing products in my Lush hamper, my Mum and Dad did so good!

All the products I received are either ones I absolutely love already, or exciting new products which are brand new to me.

Have you ever used any of these Lush products? Which ones do you love the most? Let me know in the comments below!

Thank you for reading,

love,

Jennie.

5 Reasons To Be Thankful For Your Job NOW

I absolutely love my job…

I work with the best people, I love the brand I work for, I love the job I do.

I am blessed to have a job which I love and I remind myself frequently how fortunate I am.

I believe it’s very important for us all to be thankful for our jobs, regardless of what we do.

I find however, that many people don’t feel the same as me. They complain about their job more than they are thankful “Oh I don’t want to go to work today” “Urgh, I do all this work for such little pay”, etc. etc. Of course there may be times when our jobs make us feel a little grumpy, but instead of dwelling on the negative it’s important to focus on the positives.

Whether you work in retail, in an office environment, as a nurse or as a cleaner, whether you are currently working your dream job or not, you should always be thankful for the job you have.

As always with the Law Of Attraction, the more you are thankful, the more you have to be thankful for. If you’re already on the career path of your dreams continue to be thankful for this as it will keep you in the position you want to be, whilst still opening doors you perhaps didn’t even realise you wanted opening to push you further into a life of greatness.

If you’re not on your chosen career path, you should still be grateful for the job that you have been blessed with. The more grateful you feel towards your job, the more your job will give you things to be grateful for…

‘Be grateful for what you have, whilst working towards what you want’.

Thinking about how grateful I am to have the job that I have, I have decided to compile a little list of 5 reasons as to why you should feel thankful for your job NOW in order to improve your working circumstances and keep you in a positive mindset when it comes to your career.

5 reasons for you to be grateful for your job NOW:

1. The people you work with. How many friends have you made through your job? For me, I have met some of my best friends through work which has made me so thankful for my job. Having a job enables us to meet new people, make friends, grow socially and interact with others on a daily basis. Whether it’s the guy who holds the door open for you on your way into the office, or the best friend you made at your works Christmas do after bonding over one two many glasses of wine, the people you work with are always a reason to be thankful for your job.

2. The social aspects. Tying in with my first point, having a job enables us to be social and interact with people on a daily basis. Imagine if you didn’t have a job and all you had to do each day was sit at home with nothing to do and no one to see, because everyone else is out working! Yes, lazy days at home are great but being surrounded by people is good for the soul and I know for me one thing I look forward to most about work is the fact I will get to enjoy the company of others.

3. The money you make. Whether you’re paid minimum wage or millions of pounds it’s all money and at the end of the day, from 1p to £1 we should all be thankful for the money we have. Without a job there would be no income, so always be thankful for the job you have because whilst you’re working, you’re earning and through earning money you’re able to live. Every time you receive your paycheck, remember to be thankful for your job which enabled you to receive it. Yay money!

4. The sense of purpose. Having a job gives us a sense of purpose. With work comes something to strive towards, whether that’s giving great customer service, treating someone who’s poorly back into good health, inspiring others or smashing targets, these are all things which make a job worth having and can give one a feeling of pride and accomplishment.

5. The opportunities. Tying in to the other points I have listed, having a job gives one more opportunities and can open many doors leading to new adventures and career prospects. From the opportunity of a promotion, the chance to travel to a different city for a conference, the chance to meet new people, having a job puts us on the map and gets one ‘out there’, and when you put yourself out there, good opportunities are bound to come your way.

I hope these 5 reasons I have listed as to why you should feel grateful for your job have created a new mindset for you and you now feel more optimistic towards your career. And to those who are already incredibly thankful for your job, keep at it!!! Gratitude is the open door for abundance and it’s our right to love what we do.

Work, alongside every aspect of our lives, is supposed to be enjoyable.

So go out there and be thankful for the job you have, live your dreams and most importantly, have fun!

Lot’s of love,

Jennie.

#SmearForSmear

Today is the first day of 2017’s #smearforsmear campaign, a campaign run by Jo’s Cervical Cancer trust in order to raise awareness of the importance of smear tests in preventing cervical cancer.

Today is also the first day of Cervical Cancer Awareness week.

*Please note I am not an expert on this subject nor do I know everything about it.*

What I do know is that if you’re 25 and over and have been invited to a smear test it is so important that you go!!!!

Having a smear test can be a scary concept but it really shouldn’t be avoided due to fear.

A smear test can actually reduce your risk of cervical cancer.

Personally, raising awareness of this campaign and the importance of smear tests is so important to me and that is why today I am sharing my #Smearforsmear selfie here on the blog.

What I Got For My 22nd Birthday.

Hey guys!
If you caught my latest post you will know that I recently celebrated my 22nd birthday *cue Taylor Swift’s 22 getting stuck in your head, sorry not sorry*.
With birthdays come presents and this year I was lucky enough to receive some wonderful gifts from my friends and family.
Starting off with the first presents I received, gifts from my bestest friends Emily and Chantal. Now I would say its a present in itself that they both took a days holiday off work to celebrate and spend time with me (that goes to my beautiful friend Daisy also), but being the best friends they are they went the extra mile and bought me some amazing gifts too which I am so thankful for.
First off I opened a lovely little Soap & Glory body wash set including the delicious HAND FOOD hand cream. I absolutely love Soap and Glory so I was absolutely thrilled to receive this gift, especially as I haven’t treated myself to any S&G bits in a loooong time.
16128220_1183975168364356_263538143_n
I received a typical Ann Summers gift, this time being a pack of ‘Hot Hunks’ playing cards. Absolutely amazing if you ask me, but I don’t think I’d be able to keep a poker face whilst playing with these. Ha ha ha.
16127986_1183996265028913_613271107_n
One of the best gifts the girls bought me is this beautiful Pandora charm:
16117352_1183974261697780_1251684992_n
Seriously how lucky am I? This crown charm is one I have wanted for absolutely ages but just haven’t got around to actually buying so I am so thankful the girls bought this for me. This is a really thoughtful gift which means a lot to me as now I have charms from all my most favourite people (barr my brother, not that he needs to get me one I just gotta make sure he knows he’s one of ma faves).
Next up from the girls is THIS:
16117952_1183998391695367_1209736259_n
GIANT SIMBA!! Emily actually has one of these herself and whenever I go to hers I always take selfies with Simba and wish I had one, now I do! Giant Simba is the best gift ever, I love love love it.
The girls also bought me a little One Direction goodie bag, #directionerforlife.

The girls bought me some really amazing and thoughtful gifts which I am so thankful for. Thank you Emily and Chantal!!!

My besties.
Now onto the pressies I got from my famalam.
Okay so the main thing is my parents, sister and I are all going to go and see the School Of Rock at the West End, the tickets being my main gift! However we haven’t actually booked the tickets yet, so I received some little pressies from my Mum and Dad to open on my actual bday. My sister got me a little bag of goodies such as Kopparberg, Maltesers etc. as a token gift which I thought was sweet, she got me my first Easter egg of the year and I’m currently sat devouring the Maltesers as I type.
From my parents I received two Chamilia charms for my bracelet.

They got me a gorgeous little makeup charm which I love so much as makeup is a huge part of my life, I definitely needed a charm to represent one of my passions.
The second charm I got is actually a safety lock which is something I’ve wanted for a little while now, only the other week I was with my mum in Pandora saying I was thinking of getting one! It’s so cute that my Mum listened to me and got me one for my birthday, I love it.

I received some dollars as I am going to Florida this year, a Harry Potter character book, money from my Grandparents, a photo frame from my Nan and a Body Shop gift set from my Aunt and Uncle.

I was well and truly spoilt!!!!

I am so thankful for the wonderful gifts I received for my birthday, mostly because they’re all so thoughtful.
I got everything I could ask for.
I hope you all enjoyed this blog post and seeing what I got for my 22nd birthday,
thank you for reading.
Lot’s of love,
Jennie.

I’m feeling 22.🎉

“I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling 22”

Hello all!

So on Monday I turned 22. 🎉 Yay for birthdays!

To celebrate I went out with my girls (Emily, Chantal and Daisy) on Sunday night and had way way way too much to drink. I’m pretty sure I’ve only just fully recovered from my hangover.

image
Me and my girls.👭💖💃🏻

We started off the night at a local bar called Revs. As it was a Sunday night it was pretty quiet so we just chilled and played some drinking games together. In the space of about an hour I had 5 shots, a Fizzy Fruit Salad cocktail and a shared pitcher of Rumbull. The night was off to a great start.

At around half 10 the girls and I got a taxi to Pinks, one of my favourite nightclubs. I knew the night was going to be a funny one starting from the moment Emily gave her Nando’s card to the bouncer as if it was her ID. Proper giggly!

Once inside we obvs headed straight to the bar as it was Vodka o’clock which could mean one thing only, I was about to get very drunk.

The rest of the night is a blur of dancing and having fun. I remember bumping into a friend in the r&b room, losing the girls, reuniting with the girls, downing 3 sambucas in a row, watching Daisy and Chantal play a game of pool (I think Chantal won), requesting Eminem’s ‘Without Me’ about 500 times before they finally played it and lastly, finding myself in the diner eating cheesy chips- obvs.

By about 2am I was a wreck, an absolute state, a mess, a walking disaster. I was gone. It was definitely the Vodka Redbull that finished me off, I should know better by now to not drink it! It never does me any favours and I mean it when I say I will not be drinking it ever again.

No more vodka redbull!!!

Anyway, I was in so much of a state that at 22 years old I had to call my mother and ask her to come pick me up from the club. Too much, bless my mum for actually coming to get me in the middle of the night, she’s a good’un. To be very honest, if it wasn’t for my mum coming to pick me up I don’t know how I would have made it home safely, I don’t think I could have managed it.

Also big shoutout to Daisy for looking after me whilst I waited for my mum, absolute superstar. ✨

Once home I went straight to bed, off to the land of nod before it was time for bday celebrations round 2.

🎉✨

On Monday, the day of my actual birthday, the girls and I were supposed to go for breakfast but as we were all so hungover that plan failed miserably. However, to be very honest I’m happy we didn’t go for breakfast as in the end we had a nice little chill day over at Chantal’s house where we made our own breakfast consisting of all the food under the sun. 🍊🍟🍝🎂

The girls gave me presents which happened to be the best presents ever. Seriously I have the most thoughtful friends. I won’t tell you what they got me as I’m saving that for a seperate post, but lets just say I’m a lucky gal.

For the rest of the day we just relaxed and let me tell you, we laughed so much. Reminiscing on times gone by, looking through old facebook messages, playing snog marry avoid. It was so nice to just hang out with the girls at Chanty’s house.

At around 5pm I said bye to the best gals and my sister picked me up to go home. I spent the rest of my evening chilling in my pj’s with my famalam, eating cake, receiving pressies and playing Rapidough. Rapidough is the best game ever, if you’ve never played it you need to!!! Working in teams, one member has to make a sculpture out of playdough, the other has to guess what it is and the team who guesses the correct answer fastest wins, the losing team loses some dough until there’s none left. It’s so fun!

image
Mum’s amazing Humpty Dumpty sculpture.🎊

To finish off my birthday in the best way, I quickly washed my hair and mum combed it through for me. Honestly I absolutely love having my hair combed, it’s one of the best feelings in the world so of course I had to ask my mum to do it for me on my birthday.

And that concludes the tale of my 22nd birthday! I can’t believe this is my second ever time writing about my birthday celebrations here on the blog… If you want to see what I did for my 21st last year then click here and here.

Thank you all for reading,

I hope everyone has an amazing day!

Lots of love,

Jennie.
