Hi everyone! If you read my 2018 goals post you’ll know that one of my aims for this year is to maintain a fit and healthy lifestyle! Thankfully I can happily report that so far, so good. Considering that by the end of 2017 I wasn’t really working out at all (I think the last time I went to the gym before the new year was the beginning of November) and I was eating everything in sight, I think I really made a good start to getting back into the swing of things last month. I went to the gym on a weekly basis and was excited for each session, plus I worked out a lot at home. Compared to December, I exercised a lot in January.
Although I think I really succeeded with my fitness goals last month, I didn’t do so well with my diet goals. I ate everything and then some. I celebrated my birthday in January so of course there was lots of cake and with a few day trips to London and visits to see family it was almost impossible for me to be good, however this month I’ve decided special occasion or not, I really need to stick to some kind of healthy eating plan and not indulge so much, so I’ve decided to set myself some more specific health and fitness goals for February so I really have something to focus on and work towards.
Food & Diet Goals
•Drink a glass of water before every meal
•Drink a glass of water first thing in the morning and last thing at night
•Eat as much fruit and veg as possible (aim for 5 portions a day)
•Have only 2 treat days a week with a maximum allowance of 3 snacks
•Have 5 days a week with 3 main meals and a maximum allowance of 2 snacks
•Keep a food journal each day so I can monitor what I’m eating and track my progress
I think drinking a glass of water before each meal will be a fantastic way to stop me from overindulging as it will make me feel full more quicker, I also think that this along with my goal to drink a glass of water first and last thing each day will really help keep me hydrated, which is something I really want to focus more on this month because as we all know, water is so good for us.
Fitness Goals
•Go to the gym at least 8 times completing a minimum of 1 hour intense exercise each time
•Go swimming at least once
•Go on a minimum of four walks
•Do sit ups 5 times a week
•Do at least 5 ten minute home HIIT workouts a week
•Complete at least one thirty minute home HIIT workout a week
•Stretch 5 times a week
•Keep a fitness journal each day so I can track my progress
I love working out and lately I’ve really been enjoying going to the gym. I want to make sure I go as much as possible this month because not only do I enjoy it a lot, but by doing this I’m going to see even more results than I am already. Ideally I’d like to go to the gym twice a week, sometimes even three so for now I think having a goal of 8 gym sessions this month is definitely an achievable one to aim for and will give me cover for the weeks that I’m busy and can only go once and then on the weeks that I’m not so busy, I’ll go as much as I possibly can! I also want to go swimming at least once this month because not only is it such a beneficial exercise, but it’s something I don’t do too often and I think its really important to change up my exercise routine here and there so I can give different parts of my body a chance to workout.
I am so looking forward to seeing what I can achieve this month health and fitness wise if I really focus on my goals and keep determined to achieve them! I think having set goals written down will really help to keep me motivated and I’m going to be so buzzing when it gets to the end of the month and I can say I’ve smashed them all.
What are your health and fitness goals for this month? Let me know in the comments below.
Thank you all for reading,
Love,

Those are great diet goals! I read somewhere that drinking water before a meal will also help with digestion and making you feel less bloated. Also, radiant skin! 😀 I once attempted a food journal/log but that didn’t work out for me. LOL. I couldn’t keep track of everything even when I was eating healthy.
My routine literally changed on me at the end of January that now, I don’t think I’ll have enough time to work out in the morning, and working out before bedtime will only keep me up longer, so that means I have to wake up much much earlier to work out lol. So far, the beginning of Feb is a little poor in terms of exercise, but I’ll have to take a look at pinterest and find some home workouts that I can do without needing to go to the gym. I’d also love to try the HIIT workouts, are those super intense?
Oh and good luck with your goals! Keeping journals will surely keep you accountable 🙂

Thanks lovely! Omg really? Thats so good to know, especially about the bloating! Thanks hun! Yesss radiant skin! Ah water is just so good! I have been drinking a lot recently! Oh really? Sometimes I forgot to write what i’ve eaten down but luckily I manage to remember the next day. I always keep it on the notes section of my phone because its so much easier than using a notebook. Oh no way! Yeah the last thing you want to be doing when you’re tired before bed is exercising and it’s so hard to wake up earlier in the morning! Yes definitely, you could even try little things like light jogging on the spot when you are brushing your teeth or star jumps whilst waiting for the microwave! I do that sometimes 😂 HIIT workouts are brilliant, they can be as intense as you want them to be, the more so the better! They’re really beneficial because you tend to use more energy working quickly than you would if you went at a pace spending an hour at the gym! I always try to do HIIT style exercise at the gym because of this, I would 100% reccommend! Thanks for your lovely comment hun! 💖

Yeah, I hope I’m not misinformed hahaha
Me too, drinking water has been going well for me, not that I used to drink anything but, but I’ve upped my intake and I’ve been feeling so much better. My skin isn’t as dry either 😀
I’ve been trying but things change around here so often I never get to settle into a routine 😦
OOoooh I’ll have to find some HIIT exercises then, they sound super great although knowing me, I’m sure I’ll be dying like 5 minutes in hahaha
