Welcome To My Bookshelf Every Book On My TBR Pile

Hola hunnies and welcome back to my blog / bookshelf / whatever greeting you wanna choose today!

It’s amazing how after my first post in my ‘Welcome To My Bookshelf’ series I kind of fell to a standstill with the series, not feeling inspired at all to write about my bookshelf and now here I am with two bookshelf posts for the series in the space of 8 days. The mojo is back. We go through phases sometimes, that’s why I like to keep my blog niche free, because sometimes I wanna talk about beauty, sometimes travel, sometimes books, sometimes literally anything, you know? At least it means there’s something for everyone on here and I’m always writing about what I truly want to be talking about at the time! It’s a win win situation.

Anyway, today in my Welcome To My Bookshelf series I’m going to be sharing with you every single book on my TBR (to be read) pile, including books I haven’t yet read and a few I already have but would like to read again soon in the near(ish) future.

There’s quite a few books on my TBR, so I’m not going to ramble on too much, keeping the list short and simple else this blog post will turn into a book in itself.

My Current TBR Pile (In no particular order)

⦁ You are a Badass – Jen Sincero

This book was mentioned in a LOA / Spirituality group I follow on Facebook and I liked the sound of it, so of course I had to treat myself. I’ve read a couple of pages so far but it’s been a while since I last picked this book up and I’ll definitely be starting it again from the beginning when I do decide to read it.

⦁ The Pilgrimage – Paulo Coelho

Another book I already started reading a few months ago, after reading Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemest I knew I had to read more of his work. I’ve enjoyed what I’ve read of The Pilgrimage so far and I’m definitely looking forward to starting this book again this year sometime. The only reason I stopped reading this before was because I already had so many other books on the go that seemed to take priority. I know I will feel called to start reading this book again in perfect timing and when it’s meant. I look forward to that day.

⦁ I’m OK – you’re OK – Thomas Anthony Harris

This book was recommended to me by my counsellor who is AMAZING by the way and I’m planning on reading this one pretty ASAP. Although it was recommended to me a couple of months ago, it’s definitely now that I’m feeling drawn to read it. I’m sure it’s going to be a blessing considering the fact it was recommended to me by someone who has helped me in so many ways, I am so looking forward to reading this book.

⦁ The Tattooist Of Auschwitz – Heather Morris

⦁ Pompeii – Mary Beard

This is another book I’ve already started reading, I picked this up last year after my trip to Pompeii, where I bought this book. I think it’s totally amazing that I actually bought this book when in Pompeii but unfortunately I just struggled to enjoy reading it. A non fiction piece about Pompeii, I found this book more of a chore to read than anything so for now it’s staying firmly on my TBR pile, and who knows? Maybe one day I’ll give it another whirl.

⦁ How To Talk To A Widower – Jonathan Tropper

⦁ Nice Girls Do – Sarah Duncan

⦁ The Last Letter From Your Lover – Jojo Moyes

I started reading this book on holiday last year but could not get into it at all. Although this book is on my TBR pile, I have no plans to start reading it again any time soon. I may pick it up in the future, but at the moment it’s staying put on the TBR pile until further notice.

⦁ Think And Grow Rich – Napoleon Hill

I’ve read a couple of chapters of this book, but again, I didn’t get into it too much. I will start up with this book again one day soon(ish) because I think I could gain a lot from it (heck isn’t that the intention? It is about becoming rich after all), so I’ll let you know my thoughts on it once I’ve read it.

⦁ The Power Trip – Jackie Collins

This was the first book of the late Jackie Collin’s I ever read and after this she fast became one of my favourite authors. I honestly think Jackie is one of the greatest authors of her genre, and she’s definitely someone whose success I greatly admire and look up to. If you’re thinking author goals, Jackie is just that. Her books are fantastic and she has made such an impact in the literary world in general and in my personal literary world too. I have so many books by Jackie and The Power Trip is definitely one I want to reread soon!

⦁ The Santangelos – Jackie Collins

Another book by the great Jackie Collins, I have already read this one but would for sure love to read again.

⦁ Vendetta: Lucky’s Revenge – Jackie Collins

I actually can’t remember if this is a book I’ve read or not but regardless, it’s Jackie Collins so I’m more than happy to read it once more and if it turns out it’s one of her works that I haven’t already read then that’s just a nice surprise!

⦁ Hollywood Divorcees – Jackie Collins

I can’t remember if I’ve read this book either. The blurb does sound familiar but I just can’t be sure, either way it’s another Jackie Collin’s book I plan on reading soon.

⦁ In A House Of Lies – Ian Rankin

⦁ Forbidden Places – Penny Vincenzi

A lot of these books on this list I found randomly. I either picked them up in random book sales at the pub (LOL) or they were given to me out of the blue. This book is one of them. I’ve no idea what it’s about, so I look forward to finding out.

⦁ When She Was Bad – Louise Bagshawe

⦁ Stupid Cupid – Arabella Weir

⦁ Pandora – Jilly Cooper

I’ve only read two Jilly Cooper books before, and one of them was honestly one of the longest books I have ever read. We’ll see how I get on with this one, but it looks pretty thick so it could take me a while to get through… stay tuned to find out!

⦁ The Cleaner – Paul Cleave

⦁ The Looking Glass Wars – Frank Beddor

This is a book from the ‘came from random sources pile’ and I’m seriously intrigued by the title of this one… No idea what it’s about, but I’ll find out soon enough and I’m so looking forward to it. This is a book I’m definitely going to prioritise reading.

⦁ Apple Tree Yard – Louise Doughty

This book was given to me by an old work colleague, what a love! I’m actually looking forward to reading this one because it’s a suspense thriller, which is different to the genre I’m currently hooked on (chick lit) but it doesn’t seem like it will be too heavy or triggering for me (not to sound dramatic, but sometimes I just can’t deal with the horrors of thriller novels, LOL). I think this will be a nice change for me, reading wise, so this is definitely up there as a book I’m going to read soon, soon, soon.

⦁ Behind Her Eyes – Sarah Pinborough

⦁ The Death House – Sarah Pinborough

You know what I said about not being able to deal with certain thriller books? This isn’t even thriller, it’s HORROR. This book was actually given to me by a friend of my Dad’s, but even the title makes me feel a bit sick so I think this’ll be coming swiftly off my to be read pile… yep. I don’t even want it on my bookshelf anymore, it has to go LOL. Bye Felicia, and sorry, I mean no disrespect to the author but I just can’t stomach a horror. Not now, not ever. I’m going to re-gift this book to someone who actually likes horror novels.

⦁ La Ragazza Del Treno – Paula Hawkins

This book isn’t pictured because it’s not actually on my bookshelf at the moment (it’s probably just chilling somewhere in my spare room… I hope). I bought this book in Italy last year with the intentions of it motivating me and helping me to learn Italian. This is the Italian translation of ‘The Girl On The Train’, so since I already know that story I figured this book would be a good place for me to start as I’d be able to follow along with ease. I mean, I still have my Spanish to become fluent in first, but this Italian novel is ready and waiting for me once I begin learning. Yay!

So that’s everything on my TBR pile… or is it!? Sneaky confession, since taking the pictures for this post and writing everything up, I have bought 4 new books… so stay tuned for a little haul coming soon. I’m just loving reading at the moment!

As I mentioned in my latest Bookshelf post, I’m currently reading ‘Eat Pray Love’, ‘One Summer In Paris’ and I was just about to start reading ‘I Heart Vegas’ by Lindsey Kelk which guess what? Ya gals already finished. I just love the I Heart series, I’m so hooked on finding out what happens next, roll on book number 5!
