Hello my poppets and welcome back to my blog, and my bookshelf.
Today it’s book haul time!! Ah, I am so excited, I freaking love reading and there’s nothing I love more than a good book shop, I seriously could spend thousands on books. There’s so many great ones out there to choose from.
For the past couple of months, I’ve been purchasing a few new books for my bookshelf. Now, it’s time to round them all up for a haul.
In total, since my previous book haul I have purchased 6 new books, all of which I am so looking forward to reading so without further ado, let’s jump straight into the haul…
Everything I know about love – Dolly Alderton
I’ve seen this book posted around social media a good few times, so I’ve always wanted to purchase it at some point and now I finally have. ‘Everything I know about love’ is a memoir written by Dolly Alderton all about life, love, relationships and dating, subjects which are very much right up my street and which I know I will really enjoy reading about. This book has so many good reviews, I am so looking forward to reading this one and definitely plan on reading it very, very soon. I’m excited!
The Language Of Kindness A Nurse’s Story – Christie Watson
I already know this book is going to move me beyond belief, and inspire me like nothing else to be kinder, more compassionate and more and more loving. I already feel inspired just reading the synopsis of this book, let alone having actually read it. ‘The Language Of Kindness’ is Christie Watson’s personal story of her time working as a nurse, a career she had for 20 years. I’m really looking forward to reading this book, and going forward I am going to take everything into consideration and live every moment with kindness, appreciation and gratitude.
Ghosted – Rosie Walsh
I first discovered this book in a store in New York and was instantly intrigued. I didn’t purchase straight away because I knew I really wanted to have a look in Barnes and Noble first before buying this book but in the end, we never happened to stumble across a Barnes. However, once at the airport I visited a small store to buy some last minute bits and pieces and that’s where once again, I saw ‘Ghosted’. I knew I had to buy it this time and instantly decided to purchase. ‘Ghosted’ is a fictional romance and mystery novel, which are both definitely genres I enjoy so much when it comes to books, especially romance. I’m so excited to get lost in the world of this novel, and I’m sure it’s going to be a fantastic read. Stay tuned for the review!
My City, My New York – Jeryl Brunner
I saw this book when browsing the Empire State Building souvenir shop and I knew it had to be mine. This book is all about famous New Yorkers and their favourite places in this city! I think this will be such an interesting read, and will give me so many little insider tips on all the best hidden gems in New York City, and it will definitely inspire me to visit places I may not necessarily have heard of if not for this book. I’m very excited to read this and of course, I’m so looking forward to booking another trip to New York. Bring it on!
The Complete Book Of US Presidents – Bill Yenne
Whilst in New York, I knew I really wanted to find a book all about the history of America, especially, the history of US presidents. I love all things USA and I knew I wanted to learn a little more about the presidents so when I got home, I finally decided to order this gem of a book online. I haven’t read it yet but I am so freakin’ excited to. I can’t wait to learn and increase my knowledge on all things USA. I ordered this book from Amazon, and it only cost me £14.18 including postage and packaging. I really like the look of this book and think it’s the perfect book to kickstart my learning more about the USA, its history and presidents. Yay!
I Heart Christmas – Lindsey Kelk
If you’ve read any of my recent ‘welcome to my bookshelf’ posts, you will know I’ve really been enjoying Lindsey Kelk’s ‘I heart’ series this year. Thankfully everything has aligned perfectly, and I have completed books 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 at the perfect time as book 6 in the series is ‘I Heart Christmas,’ which is where I’m at now! I’m so glad I got to this point in the series at a time when it’s actually close to Christmas because I genuinely don’t think I could read a Christmas related novel at any other time of year. This has worked out perfectly. The ‘I Heart’ series follows the story of Angela on her travels and they are truly the perfect chick lit novels. I’m definitely planning on reading this one come the beginning of December and I hope it gives me all the festive vibes. I am a little apprehensive to read this considering the fact the last book I read in this series, ‘I Heart London’ fully stressed me out and was just too much, but here’s hoping this instalment has the perfect amount of adventure without being too much.
I am so grateful I have so many wonderful and exciting new books on my to be read pile. Now it’s a little bit colder and more Winter-y, I am so looking forward to having some cosy baths and reading my books.
Have you read any of the books featured in this haul? What are you currently reading? What books would you recommend I buy next? Be sure to let me know all your thoughts in the comments below.
As always thank you so much for reading,
with so much love and kindness,
Jennie

I love how so many of things were either purchased or inspired by your trip in New York! It is also so funny you didn’t stumble across Barnes and Noble! There are so many of them there! (I can give you a list for next time 🙂 ) Airport bookstores are such hidden gems! I love browsing them! I also love that the last book is a Christmas one! ’tis the season! ❤

Omg so many books!! I havent gotten the chance to read much.
Language of Kindness might be something that Mackenzie might like, since she’s a nurse. And Ghosted looks and sounds familiar
Great haul!
