Vegas, Baby! | Part 2 | Zip Lining, Dolphins & Crazy, Crazy Milkshakes

Oh hey,

I’m back with Part 2 of my Vegas Vacation! Exciting, writing these posts is making me reminisce so much, you know I adore America, and oh how I am so excited for all the trips I have to look forward to there in the future.

America is like where my heart feels at home, I have a connection with it there and honey, I’m so excited to go back,

but first,

Vegas Part 2, (2020 edition, hehe)

Following on from mine and Emily’s awesome Grand Canyon adventure, it was time for a new dawn and a new day.

On our third full day in Las Vegas, we decided to have breakfast at the Hard Rock Cafe. Emily & I do love a Hard Rock and we visit one on pretty much all of our trips together – from Paris, to New York, to Florida and of course London, we always visit a Hard Rock. It’s a tradition, and one I’m excited to keep up with as the years go on!

Whilst we always enjoy a Hard Rock wherever we vacation, usually we go for dinner as opposed to breakfast, so this time, we decided to throw a brekkie in there too (we of course visited for dinner later on in the week, it’s a must)! I ordered a typical cooked breakfast, vegetarian of course, and decided to treat myself to some fruit on the side as well. I figured I might as well try and be healthy where I could – and wow, the strawberries were really yummy. I didn’t finish all my fruit, but I sure did polish those strawberries off. 10/10!

We love a Hard Rock.

After breakfast, I believe it was this morning / early afternoon that we went zip lining on The Strip. I really can’t remember if we did thisΒ zip line on this day, or the day before the Grand Canyon but either way, at some point in those few days, we did a zip line over The Strip, known as ‘Fly LINQ’. This was my first ever zip line, and I absolutely loved it, though I was a little scared at first. I was proper freaking out, typical me, haha!

With this zip line, you can either ‘fly’ in a seated position, or laying down Superman style. I opted for the Superman style flight, which meant I had to wear a helmet. Emily chose the seated position, as had most other people, and it was only the few of us doing Superman who were given a helmet. Naturally, this freaked me out as I was wondering why we’d been given helmets – was it likely I was going to bang my head? The attendants reassured me I wouldn’t, so I’m glad I asked, but being one of the only ones with a helmet definitely threw me off a little.

What also panicked me was laying myself down. It sounds ridiculous now, and it’s so funny that this is what freaked me out, but basically, when getting ready for the ‘flight’, I was harnessed up and my attendant told me to ‘push forward’ as though I was going to do a push-up. Basically, I had to push forward into a push-up but into thin air, with no ground to push onto, this really had me screaming. I literally had to pluck up the courage to do an in the air push-up, I mean obviously, it just didn’t feel natural that I was throwing myself up into thin air, all by myself. Luckily, once I’d done it I was fine, and then as soon as we were all in our positions we were set off, zip lining in Las Vegas.

I enjoyed the experience so much, I could do it again and again and again.

So worth the few moments of freaking out, I faced my fear and did it anyway. It totally paid off! Now when can I go again?

There’s still a part of me that thinks we actually did this zip line on a previous day, but either way, we did the LINQ zip line and it was awesome. 10/10 I 100% recommend.

Okay, so anyway,

the rest of that day we had lots going on!

We headed to The Mirage hotel where we visited Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat where we saw my FAVOURITE little huns, the dolphins. Oh my gosh, we were so lucky to see these adorable little dolphins, and we even got to see them splashing about having fun, playing BALL with all of us watching. I couldn’t believe that we had the opportunity to get this close to the dolphins, they are so freakin’ precious and joyful, I could watch them all day.

Along with my favourite dolphins, S&R’s Secret Garden also has other animals to see including White Tigers!

It’s a beautiful location, and so lovely to see the animals, it felt even more glorious being that the weather was so radiant!

I could of spent all day watching the dolphins and enjoying the sunshine, but as we had exciting plans for that evening, it was time to head off and grab some food at The Sugar Factory beforehand…

The Sugar Factory was recommended to me by a friend and after checking out some pictures, I knew we had to go.

Here, I ordered an amazing grilled cheese sandwich which came with chips and a marinara sauce and oh my goodness, this was unreal. I can’t think about it without craving it, my mouth watering, the sauce really made this meal, as dipping the sandwich into the sauce was like a dream. Oh my goodness, I need this meal again…

but maybe not the dessert…

So I can’t go to the Sugar Factory without ordering a ridiculously extra milkshake right? I of course opted for the Princess Make A Wish milkshake, which comes with a cupcake, a giant marshmallow flump kinda thing, cream and honestly God knows what else.

Big mistake.

Whilst this milkshake may look cute and pretty, it tasted awful. Even the cupcake, which you think you couldn’t go wrong with, was abuse to my mouth as I bit into it. I had to leave the milkshake pretty much full, I just hope the waiters thought that I was too full up to finish it, as opposed to not liking it.

I’ll try a different dessert or shake next time, for sure…

Side note: So I found my pictures from the zip line and even though they don’t have a date on them, judging by my makeup and the outfits – it looks like we actually did the LINQ zip line on the Tuesday, the day before the Grand Canyon, as opposed to the day I’m talking about here in this post, OOPS!!! I knew we couldn’t have fit that much into one day, from zip lines to dolphins to the Sugar Factory and even more following, which I’ll share with you in my next post – Vegas Baby part 3!

Either way, everything I said about the zip line other than WHEN we did it stands true, it was AWESOME!

See you soon for Part 3,

Have you ever been zip lining?

Would you have flown Seated or Superman style?

What’s your favourite flavour of milkshake?

  1. That marshmallow lollipop thing looks so pretty but I can imagine it wouldn’t be the easiest to eat. I’ve never had a freakshake before, wouldn’t know where to start with one haha! The fries look good though, love me some fries x

  2. What awesome adventures! And girl I LOVE your pictures! Your outfit is gorgeous! Ziplining is so much fun, but definitely a little scary (I don’t like heights!) In my opinion Sugar Factory is great for the gram but the food is underwhelming unfortunately. It is sad your milkshake was disappointing, because it looks so yummy! Can’t wait to read part three! ❀

  3. You seriously know how to have the BEST time, Jennie! This looks like such a fun trip!!! I could comment on sooo much on this post, but I am infatuated with that milkshake— gooooodness gracious that looks good. I’m going to get an ice cream cone right now because I need some sugar after seeing that! Thanks for sharing, beautiful!

I’ve never been zipling sadly and i would have done superman for sure hehe! I’m okay with any flavour of milkshake tbh hehe as long as it doesn’t taste super artificial! Heh! 5. Fun fun!!! What do* they serve at Hard Rock? I’ve never been LOL. Is it just American cuisine??

Zip lining sounds so fun I wanted to try but not by myself of course, and couldn’t with our little one anyway. Maybe next time when I go back. We actually got to see a few people zip lining overhead when we walked around at the LINQ. πŸ™‚ by the way, did you really go zip lining in that gorgeous pink dress????? LOL

I so badly wanted to go to the secret garden too to see those dolphins! Ah man, there wasn’t enough time this time to see everything else i wanted to LOL

I remember you telling us how awful that Sugar Factory milkshake was LOL. I will be sure to steer clear from that one if I ever go. It sounds like such a fun place to visit anyway.

never mind on the zip line and your dress lol. i just finished reading the end of your post saying you looked through the photos πŸ™‚

I cannot wait to read part 3, I’m almost there! i thought i was more behind than I thought but it seems not many people are blogging now a days…

    1. Yeah it’s mostly burgers – so I guess American right!? Even though the first one actually originated in London I believe, you’d think it was founded in America. It’s such a cool place, I’d definitely recommend!

Zip Lining is so good! I will do it with you next time we are in Vegas together! That’s so cool that you got to see people doing it!! Haha oh my goodness no – I thought I’d got changed but I realised we did it a couple of days before – I wore shorts – I think I was wearing the outfit with the lilac-y top from the first post but I’m sure I got changed into something else, I can’t remember lol but NO even I didn’t go zip lining in a dress – it wouldn’t be surprising knowing me though!!

Ah you saw the flamingos though right? I didn’t see those this time! The Secret Garden is well worth a trip as you can actually interact with the dolphins if you’re lucky enough that they throw the ball your way. So cool!!! Next time for sure!

Oh my gosh it was so bad haha, I couldn’t believe it. SO dissapointing when it looks that good right!? Its a fun place to visit, they do giant cocktails which I’d try next time. Apparantly one of them is ‘Drake’ approved or something, lol.

OH haha, I only just read the end of your comment lol my bad – honestly, because I didn’t take thaaaat many pictures, I got so confused with when we did what!!

Thank you hun! I know, my feed is still pretty full, but there’s definitely a lot of people who are taking a step back. I just hope everyone is okay ❀

      1. Oh okay yeah, that would be considered “American”. But funny how America takes a lot of things from different places and makes it theirs xD
Oh okay LOL. I was thinking the same thing, like “there’s no way she would do that” haha
Yes I got to see the flamingos, so cute! It was such a lovely little spot/garden in the middle of such a busy strip πŸ˜€ it’s the perfect little getaway. πŸ™‚
Ahhh I didn’t know you could interact with them! That’s so cool! I cannot wait to go back then, I feel like I can go back to Vegas many time and still not see everything LOL
I knowwww!! When you showed us on WhatsApp I was like “that looks insanely good!” How could something that looks so delicious be so bad? LOL I never imaged someone could mess up desert but I guess that;s proof that they can haha. Maybe next time you should try the Drake approved one πŸ˜€
I hope everyone is okay too πŸ™‚ ❀

      2. Haha I know right. Where do hamburgers originate from? Is it America or is it Germany? Like ‘Hamburg’ the place. I need to find this out lol!!
Aha no way!! I don’t even know if I’d have been allowed on it that dress, LOL!
Aww so lovely, flamingos are so beautiful right!! It’s crazy isn’t it, that these little spots are hiding in the hotels like you say, in the middle of such a busy strip. I felt the same with the Secret Garden, like, there’s just these tigers and leopards here chilling, it’s so crazy!!
I know, they’re just playing ball and will throw it at you if you’re lucky. Well, throw for a dolphin, it’s more like a whack LOL. I totally feel the same, I feel like I could go on holiday to each hotel at least, like one hotel is a whole holiday they have so much going on. You really could spend a long time there and never get bored!!
I know!! I’m shocked at the cupcake tbh I just don’t understand how a cupcake can go so wrong LOL! That’s definitely proof, it could have been so much nicer than it was!! Yes I am going to try a cocktail or something else next time! Lots of love ❀

      3. i honestly do not know!!! i’m curious now, let me look it up πŸ™‚

apparently someone in Texas created it but Germany is also listed as an origin? LOL
yeaaahhh!! like it’s not until you walk through all the hotels and their lobbies and their casinos, like the Bellagio with their garden or Caesars Forum Shops with the Fall of Atlantis, the freaking fountains alone are so freaking massive I cannot believe they fit that in there lol

  6. I cannot imagine you actually freaking out over the zip line!! You seem so brave, calm & collected to me but, woo!! I’m glad you faced your fears & ended up having an awesome time. The way you described the push up part had me scared just reading lol. Your photo going down that elevator is so fierce, girl! Love it! ❀ & I would so love a grilled cheese with tomato sauce/soup right now… yum! Sorry your milkshake wasn't the best though but, HEY, you had to try one, right?! It's the dang SUGAR Factory, after all. πŸ˜€
