My Current Skincare Collection | January 2020

Hello beautiful guys and dolls and welcome back to my blog.

Recently, I’ve felt inspired to share more beauty related posts on both my blog and my Instagram stories (maybe sometimes even my main feed too) and I thought something that would be really fun would be to share with you my beauty collections, from skincare to hair care to makeup etc etc. All things beauty! Today I’ll be starting this little series off (if we wanna call it a series) with my current skincare collection, along with of course some mini reviews and thoughts plus the top products I recommend from my collection so without further ado, let’s get into my current skincare collection.

Enjoy!

My Current Skincare Collection | January 2020

Superdrug Vitamin E Skincare All Over Body Moisturiser

This is my go to daily moisturiser which I use almost every single day. This leaves my skin feeling lovely and soft and smelling fresh. I love Superdrug’s own brand products because they’re all cruelty free and so well priced, I highly recommend and I’m sure I’ll be purchasing this product again once I need a new moisturiser. I love it!

Nivea Refreshingly Soft Moisturising Cream

60FE9BFB-5613-4BDC-B840-382DA85556B9

I received this for Christmas so I haven’t actually used it yet, being that I’m still using my Vitamin E cream from Superdrug. I am looking forward to trying this though, I love soft skin and moisturising!

Superdrug Vitamin E Skincare Gentle Oatmeal Exfoliator

28C8B3ED-B12A-47F6-908F-3DBB4320C241

So this is technically a ‘product empty’ rather than a ‘what’s in my current collection’ because I’ve finished it and I need another however I wanted to include this product in this post because it’s definitely one which I highly recommend. The word ‘gentle’ really is relevant here with this product because even though this is an exfoliator, it feels so soft on the skin. Again being that it’s part of the Superdrug range, it’s also Cruelty Free. YAY!

Nivea Daily Essentials Gentle Cleansing Cream Wash

3818DD32-08FE-41E7-ACDD-02837506B869

This is actually my Mum’s but I may or may not have been using it too… much to her shock when she saw me posting about it on my ‘currently using’ series on Instagram… I thought she knew. She was even more dissaproving when she read that I considered it to be an ‘average’ face cream and ‘nothing special’, hahaha. Apparantly she loves it as she has to go to Sainsbury’s especially just to buy this one so each to their own I guess, my Mum obviously thinks it’s a good’un but for me, I can take or leave it. Looks like I’m going to have to leave it now too asap and buy myself a new face wash, so I can leave my Mum to hers. LOL.

L’Oréal Pure Clay Blemish Rescue Mask

2EBB0964-841F-465D-9335-2A1706EE199B

I like this face mask because it’s blue but in terms of quality I can’t say I really notice too much difference in my skin after using, then again I don’t dedicate enough time to my face masks like I should so give it a few more go’s and maybe I’ll have more to say on it. I used this most recently whilst in the bath so I feel like maybe I didn’t benefit as much as I could from it, because the steam stopped it from drying properly before being washed off, you know? I don’t actually know whether it’s supposed to ‘dry’ as such or not but anyway, not a lot to say on this one, I don’t think I can make a fair judgement.

Superdrug Cleansing Facial Wipes

3E822AB4-0BDE-47D8-A1E6-0C7616799105

I’m not the biggest fan of face wipes, I’m trying not to use them too much as I know they’re not great for the environment and also, I definitely prefer other methods of skincare which are a little more thorough. Having said that though, I do like to keep a pack of face wipes spare for those nights when I’m feeling a little lazy, or for cleaning up any makeup errors / sharpening eyeshadow looks etc. These are from Superdrug and are Cruelty Free!

Clinique Mini Take The Day Off makeup remover for Lids, Lashes and Lips (mini)

D0300B6D-FA8D-4E27-8D2C-278B3C60AC56

I received this as a freebie from Clinique and whilst it’s okay, I probably wouldn’t be in a rush to buy this when it runs out. To me, it’s just an average remover which I don’t really need, as I use my Micellar water for all over! I guess it’s handy to have for more pigmented / heavier eyeshadow looks maybe, but for me I’m not sure I deem it necessary plus the brand isn’t cruelty free. If I was to purchase a specific eye makeup remover, I’d definitely try a Cruelty Free one, probably from Superdrug let’s face it!

Superdrug Vitamin E Skincare Gentle Micellar Solution

578A84FB-94A1-4C35-AF08-59592944CE4B
I love this micellar water and it’s for sure my go to, I’ve gone through so many of these. Micellar water is my favourite form of removing makeup / cleansing my face especially at night time. Of course I opt for this one as it does a good job and is cruelty free. It’s a complete win.

Sisley Paris Cleansing Milk With Sage

7E0CF2E8-E313-494D-A3F2-70C1C6B5DDC4

Disclaimer: I received this as a freebie.

Cleansing milk isn’t my favourite form of makeup remover though this one does do a good job. I use this sometimes to remove my makeup or clean up any errors and I do really like it, however because the brand isn’t cruelty free I wouldn’t be in a rush to purchase again. It’s not that good, haha.

Superdrug Simply Pure Refreshing Toner

BFE8CE5D-7E84-416B-8843-946B0FC2646F

I bought this toner because it’s cruelty free, but it’s not my favourite. Whilst it does the job, I’ll probably try to find another Cruelty Free toner once this one runs out, as I don’t notice anything stand out special about it.

Superdrug Vitamin C Detox Skincare Invigorating Skin Booster

0841B517-44E3-4697-B711-8A315B075EB8

Another product empty because this has finally run out however, being that I only realised it was empty a couple of days ago I of course had to include it in this post. Whilst I really love this product, I’m not going to sit here and say I use it everyday, but that’s only because I could really work on putting a little more effort in when it comes to my skincare. I do cut this product out sometimes if I’m feeling lazy but it’s actually really really good, and I definitely notice a refreshing difference in my skin when I use this so I’m definitely going to repurchase this at some point, and I’d 100% recommend. Of course, being that it’s from Superdrug it’s also Cruelty Free. Yay!

Superdrug Vitamin E SPF15 Moisturising Day Cream

041E6A24-0425-4C5F-8B0A-473DB9FF7EC4

Another product from the Superdrug Vitamin E range, I just love how they’re Cruelty Free. I definitely really like this day cream and think it’s such a positive that it has SPF15 because it saves me having to even think about SPF, and I know for one that I should probably think about SPF a lot more, so I’m grateful this product already comes with some SPF in there because that’s such an added bonus. Sun protection is so important! I need to get better with my skincare really, but I do remember there was a day around when I used this for one of the first few times and I was so impressed, it left my skin looking so fresh and glowing, I decided I wouldn’t even fancy wearing makeup that day because my skin looked so good. I’m sure I’ll be purchasing this product again once this one runs out.

Superdrug Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream

49D34F19-3DD7-4D1E-B02A-86E0652834C1

This is my go to night cream which of course I bought because it’s part of the Vitamin E range from Superdrug and is Cruelty Free. I feel like there’s nothing that especially wow’s me about this product, maybe I should consider paying more attention to it however my initial thoughts are that it’s a decent enough moisturiser / night cream and it’s Cruelty Free so I’ll definitely be purchasing this again when I need to.

Sisley Paris Moisturizer With Cucumber

10835564-300F-4354-885D-58726206C3E9

This was another freebie and I like how this product has Cucumber in which helps lock in the moisture and hydration. I use this sometimes either day or night, but I haven’t used it enough to form a full opinion on it, I look forward to trying this one out more.

Superdrug Vitamin C Detox Skincare Brightening Eye Gel

DFCB7ACF-CB46-4F22-9D2A-86CEB1BABFF7

I’m definitely not really an eye product user, and as with all of them that I buy, I eventually gave up on this one too. I didn’t really love the application style of this eye gel because it’s a roll on, whereas I’d prefer one that I could dab on, maybe a wand style applicator or preferably even something in a pot. The main selling point on this one is once again that it’s Cruelty Free, but I’m definitely going to keep my ‘eye’ (pun intended 😉) out for another cruelty free eye cream in a pot that I can try and hopefully benefit from. I’m not the biggest lover of eye products because I never feel as though I see any benefits from them, but I’m hoping one day (soon) I can actually find one that I fall in love with. Yes please!

Lush Sugar Plum Fairy Lip Scrub

BFB11EB7-0B7D-41BE-9279-BEDE61617B3D

I only bought this at the beginning of the month after wanting a lip scrub from Lush for ages, I’ve really needed one. I honestly can’t say I’ve noticed a massive difference in my lips since using this, but then again I almost think I’ve been overusing it as I was SLATHERING my lips in this stuff. I’m definitely using it a little less now, but it does feel good as it feels like I’m proper taking care of my lips so they’re luscious hehe. This lip scrub is pretty decent, because it smells and tastes like blackcurrant. Yum.

Various Lip Balms From The Body Shop and Nivea

I’m loving looking after my lips at the moment, and I received some nice lip care products for my birthday and Christmas including these ones from The Body Shop and I think the Nivea one too (I can’t remember if this was a gift from Christmas or not, hehe). Nothing much to say about these, The Body Shop ones smell yummy though, and it’s always nice to keep lips soft. I’d definitely consider purchasing The Body Shop ones when these run out (though I have a good few so it’ll probably take a while), and the Nivea balm is definitely handy to have.

No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advance Daily Hydration Hand & Nail Cream

D3D5289E-ACCB-4488-B7C1-5C4A26AAEF30

I bought this ages ago and haven’t used it in so long, I should probably get using it up. Since I haven’t used this in so long I don’t have too much to say about it, but it’s always good to have a hand cream in your collection, our hands need love too.

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream

EE8B1B90-0CF1-41C9-B4CC-A7977A87E2D5

This came as a freebie with a purchase of the 8 hour oil (also from Elizabeth Arden) and I can’t say I love it. So many people rave about 8 hour but I just haven’t been wowed by it when I’ve used it, however since posting about this on my Instagram I was recommended to try using this on my lips which I’m definitely going to do. I tried it the other day on my lips and didn’t really notice too much but that was during the day time and obviously just the one application. I’d like to see how I get on if I use this of a night time on my lips for a few consecutive days. I really want my lips to be so healthy!

Boots Soltan Protect & Moisturise Suncare Lotion SPF30

CE3A4F97-1911-4CFB-A3E5-770F78E5B2F3

This is part of my skincare collection because we gotta protect ourselves from the sun however, I haven’t used this since the Summer if memory serves correctly… at least I hope I used this last Summer LOL. I might start using this more on areas that aren’t covered when I go out because suncare is very important, so this is something I definitely need to focus on more when I know my skin is going to be exposed to the outdoors / sun.

Boots Moisturising Aftersun

EC755387-1FDB-4E7A-B6B7-AAFA37FE1EEB

Whilst this is sat in my collection, I honestly don’t think I’ve ever even used this and goodness only knows how long I’ve had it. I think my parents might have even bought this for our holiday to Italy in 2018 but at this point, I really have no idea. It’s probably not even suitable for use now, I’ve really no idea LOL. That’s a question for my Mama. Anyway, I wouldn’t mind trying some Aftersun this Summer / on holiday, but as for this one I can’t comment other than the fact, it’s part of my collection.

Wilko Cotton Pads

37FAE020-BA93-4D47-BB6C-4D8A5D869C73

I use cotton pads with my cleansers and toners to remove my makeup and tone my skin. I tend to go for the cheapest in whichever store I’m nearest when I need them. They’re only cotton pads after all!

  1. I absolutely love that all the products from Superdrug are CF and affordable! Makes my heart so happy! Also, that jar of lotion looks pretty big, I bet it lasts a while lol

I like gentle exfoliators too. The elf cosmetics exfoliating scrub that I reviewed a few weeks ago feels so soft and not abrasive on the skin, at all! Love it.

A lot of people seem to like those clay masks from L’Oreal, definitely let us know what you think of it.
Also, love your orange nails in that photo!

I dont like using facial cleansing wipes as much either for the same reason, not environmentally friendly. I found some reusable makeup removing wipes on Amazon that I want to buy so badly! Apparently you can make them yourself as well.

The Clinique makeup remover is amongst one of the best ones I’ve tried, I ran out of my sample too and if they were CF i would buy it but i have to find another alternative lol.

Love micellar water and toner! Lol too bad the toner wasnt the best.

Yay for having a day dream and a night creams, I have some two from elf. So so good.

The eye gel is interesting but definitely like creams that I can apply myself instead. Roll on products dont sound very hygienic anyway when they go near the eyes lol

I need to take better care of my lips as of lately as well. Been using a lip scrub too but it comes in stick form lol. It twists up.

You should definitely be using spf year round even if it’s not sunny outside. I have finally made this a habit of mine and I never leave my house without wearing it. In fact, I always apply because sometimes I will leave the house in short notice lol

Thank you for sharing your extensive skincare collection with us

    1. It really is and makes you feel so good too! I’m loving skincare even more at the moment-
More so the results and feeling after its being done haha!! Yes yes yes! I actually don’t know too much about the benefits of that ingredient though, I need to research ❤️

  2. Yesss to more beauty posts from you, Jennie! I can’t wait! 😁 I am seriously cracking up about you using your mum’s face cream & saying it was nothing special LOL. That micellar water & day cream with SPF sound lovely. I wish we had Superdrug around here so I could try them! I need to get better about my sun care, too & I usually give up on eye creams/gels as well. 😛 How interesting that was a roll on, I’ve actually not seen that before.

My lips are always quick to dry so I am always trying my best to take care of them, too. The scrub I use gives me results after one use so maybe this Lush one just isn’t the best? The Body Shop balms are packaged so cute lol. I never thought to put a cream on my lips– interesting! Please let me know how that goes after awhile?!

I loved seeing your collection!! Thanks for sharing it with us, babe. ♡♡

    1. Eek thanks babe! I gotta get on part 2 for the face makeup hehe!!! Omg so funny, she was fuming (not seriously) when she saw my Insta story, LOL!!!! Ooh they are so lush, I love using them. I need a new micellar water though so I’m gonna have to stock up ASAP, the same one of course, but mines run out and when I went to buy it the other day it wasn’t there… hopefully soon anyway random ramble over lol!! Superdrug has such a good range!! ❤ Yes I definitely want to focus on suncare more and haha omg, well if I find an eye product I stick to, I'll definitely recommend it to you also!!! Oh really?? I think I've seen a couple, but it's definitely not my favourite style of applicator! I definitely want a little pot one that I can just use my fingers with! ❤

Ooh that's interesting, maybe that's the case 😦 I'll have to try another brand. I still love LUSH for all their other stuff though 😉 and the scrub is still tasty, at least, haha!!! Ah The Body Shop balms are so cute right! And they taste fruity, hehe! YES I will, I'll make it a goal to do so every day this week, applying the 8 hour to my lips, I'll let you know!

Thanks so much for commenting beauty, I'm glad you enjoyed ❤

      1. Yes! Can’t wait to see the face makeup! 😁 & that’s still making me laugh that your mom found out you were using her cream through IG lol!!

That would be a dream if they opened up a Superdrug over here. That’s amazing all their stuff is cruelty-free! & please do let me know if you find some good eye stuff. 😊

I definitely still want to try some other Lush products & the Body Shop balms!!

♡♡♡ have a lovely week, babe!
