July Reflections ’17

July was a super busy month for me and one that seemed to last forever. Like I know I’ve said this years going quick but July went kinda slow in comparison. Electroland seems a lifetime ago, but it was only a few weeks ago. I packed in so much last month, for once the phrase time flies when you’re having fun was proved wrong.

Last month was filled with a lot of travel, starting with a day trip to London with my bestie Emily to see the Biebs at BST Hyde Park. You can read about that here but to sum it up it was a fun day with delicious chinese food, good music, giggles and memory making with Emily and beautiful weather. It was also one of the worst experiences of a festival crowd I’ve ever had, but alls well that ends well as it inspired me to write my festival frenemies blog post. Every cloud! At the end of the day, I got to spend quality time with my bestie and that’s what matters the most to me. Making memories and appreciating each others company!

The weekend after consisted of more memory making with my best friend as we took a quick two day trip to Paris for Disney Land’s first ever festival Electroland. This was honestly one of the happiest, most wonderful weekends of my life and seeing Steve Aoki live was an incredible experience. He is so brilliant live, getting the crowd going and creating all the positive vibes. I had so much fun dancing to his music and the fact it was at Disney Land made it 10000x more magical. Emily and I had the best time and we made so many fantastic memories together, I couldn’t think of anyone I would have rather shared the experience with! Roll on Florida!

Last month was my sisters birthday, so of course as a family we all spent a lovely quality evening together. We got my sister tickets to see Dreamgirls in the West End, which is something she’s wanted to see for a while and now she finally will. My mum and I are going with her, so it’s going to be a really fun girlie day with my loves when we do go! Yayyyy.

Another birthday was due for celebration last month as my gorgeous nephew Tommy turned 3 years old! He is an absolute treasure and I love him so much. For his birthday my family travelled down to Wiltshire to see him (and of course his mummy and daddy – and Widget dog, can’t forget Widge)! I do wish we got to see them more as because they live quite far away its never enough, so it’s definitely a goal of mine to see them more frequently however it does mean the time we do spend together is even more special and I truly had a fab day with my loved ones. We went out for lunch and all had a carvery, we weren’t intending to but the scent of Yorkshire puddings immediately had my decision made for me and once I’d opted for the carvery, everyone seemed to. What can I say, I’m a trend setter. With a fun soft play area for the kids, I finally got to let out my inner child by having a climb and going down all the slides! Tommy asked me to go in with him, so it would have been rude not to. I had so much fun, someone needs to open up an adult play area near where I live because those places are too much fun!

The third and final birthday celebration of the month was for my friend Hazel’s 21st. I know Hazel from school although we were never close until I started working with her two years ago. Now I am thankful to consider her a friend and celebrating her birthday was so much fun. Rather than a typical party Hazel decided to hold a Ceilidh, a Scottish barn dance party. I had never been to one of these before but oh my goodness, I had the best time. Despite being slightly exhausted from some of the dances (and I only did a few, some people danced all night), I had the best time and enjoyed myself so much. It was nice to do something different, spend some time with my work girls and learn all the different dances including the Virginia Reel!

Birthdays celebrated, I ended the month with a night out with the girls where I had too much vodka and got way too drunk! I peaked so early I had to leave before 1am and it was one of those nights were I don’t even know how I managed to get home safely. Never ever again! From now on my drinks of choice are Malibu and coke’s plus Apple Sourz for shots. I want to enjoy my nights out in the future whilst remaining safe and in control!

Finally, on the very last day my sister and I went out for lunch and a little walk, we also did a couple of mini hill sprints and acted silly rolling down the hill which was cute. It was nice to spend some one on one, quality time with my sister and a positive end to the month.

Now we’re in August and although the first couple of days were a rocky road now I’m on the track of positivity and looking forward to seeing what the rest of the month has to hold.

What was your July highlight? What are your hopes and dreams for August? Let me know in the comments below.

Thank you for reading,

Love,

Jennie.

  1. I’m literally a whole month late on reading this lol And to think we’re in September now *cries*. Nevertheless it looks like you had a ballin’ month of July!!! If you get to spend a part of your month in Disney I think that in itself calls to be the best month ever lol Oh and you got to see Bieb, thats just a double whammy right there! Okay I’m going to guess there’s an August reflection that I need to go catch up on now lol
